Gear Review | Nobile NHP and Infinity Split boards | Great for Travel

When I'm out riding I get a lot of questions about my Nobile splitboards, so I figured I'd put my thoughts into a review video. The short answer is that they are both great for travel, and you'd never notice that they were splitboards from riding them. Watch the video for all the details.

Great video thanks for posting what kind of bag are you using at the 57-second mark. you seem to have your equipment dialed that bag look sweet.

The rolling one is the Ortlieb Duffle RS, and the really big one is the Ortlieb Xtremer 150L. The RS fits the Nobile NHP Twin tip perfectly on the bottom, which provides some structure to the bag, and makes it good for travel. The Xtremer fits the Infinity split foil and 3 kites. I use the xtremer to pack and unpack the car ( i have a decent walk), and I use it on boats because it can keep all my gear dry.

Hi Evan, I'm looking to buy an Infinity Split board and hopefully a Slingshot Hover Glide FKite V5. Can you confirm I won't need any special adapters to connect the SS to the Nobile board? Thanks from Canada. Great video!

Thanks! In all the videos where I’m foiling, the setup I’m on is the Nobile and the hover glide. I think the Apollo 60 or the Infinity 76 for heavier guys are amazing slingshot foil wings to learn on. You might want to confirm that the spacing on newer boards is still the same.

@@vratar30 the space skate is a great beginner wing, and it’ll be easier to learn on than most other wings. If your heavier and can find a used infinity 76, that will be even easier as it’s higher aspect ratio and more stable. Let me know how the setup works!!

Thanks Evan, great review. Looking for Nobile splitboard 5'2" 2020 mostly as travel surfboard for small-med waves (I'm beginner, have bigger directional board for lighter days, ride both strapped and strapless). How do you think this board compares to other, non-split options? Also I've just started with foiling, and this seems a great option for both, right?

It definitely can foil and surf and it’s great at doing that for travel. I’ve never noticed the split on any of their boards, so I think they are almost as stiff as regular boards. I learned how to ride strapless on mine and had a lot of fun in smaller waves on it. I think it’s probably a bit better for foiling thing wave surfing. I don’t love the feeling of a twin fin compared to a thruster. But I have progress to a dedicated surf board and part of it may be that I’m used to that new board.

hi Evan thank you ... am looking into getting an infinity split foil, you mentioned that you that 2018 model is better for the less wide aspect of the board correct? would be happy to connect offline ..as I have not found anything really insightful beyond your feedback review and would love to catch live, merci :) laurent

Hey Laurent! I just confirmed, and it doesn't look like the 2018-2019 model is any different in width than the 2021. The dimensions look the same, but the main difference seems to be that they added a track for the foil (which really helps if you want to ride with straps). What type of foil will you use it with?

@@erbartlett thank you 😊 fir the feedback . Started fooling 2 months back with an Fone ic3 v6, great to learn : stable and easy. It should fit the infinity split board. They have discounts on the 2020 model, any idea/feedback vs 2021 model …? Where are you based? 😉 Thanks 😊

@@laurentf.-profsailorkitesu2466 I think 2021 ads in the track mount on the board, so you can slide your foil forwards and backwards within the track. 2020 just had for mount holes, so you had not ability to adjust. I ride without straps, so I currently don't really feel the need to have the track. If you ride with straps, being able to move the foil forward or backwards will help you find the sweet spot and make sure it lines up with where your straps are on the board. I'm in NY

@@erbartlett thanks Bud … indeed I saw the tracks under - will see what I decide in coming months going to stick my Fone for now and start taking straps out hopefully next Saturday … 😉 once my traveling board, I come to pay a visit in NY and ride there … where do you usually ride ?? thanks again

Hi, very nice video! Have you ever tried the TT Split Foil? I had the TT Split 2014 but it was way too soft and I‘m wondering now if it might be stiff enough for heavy landings.

What type of bag did you use for the twin tip? Looking for a big enough big for the split and 3 kites. That’s roller bag looked good. Thx!

The roller is the Ortlieb 110L Duffle RS, it'll fit the board with a 7m, 9m, 12m but its tight. I got that one because its also water proof and I end up on a boat a lot in the rain, so I like keeping my other kites dry while I ride. I also have the Ortlieb Xtremer 150L which fits the split surf board and 3-4 kites (its enormous). You can find tons of other rolling duffle bags for cheaper that aren't as water proof that fit 31inches / 17inches (the board when split).
