Just One Night was my first EC album. I got it for Christmas in 1981,I gotta say it was a real eye opener!! After that, I just immersed myself in anything EC and at the same time a girlfriend turned me on to JJ Cale. Life Changing experiences!!! So good to see you again, Mike!! I hope you are doing well!!! Mike, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Nobody knows the depths of my love for Clapton’s Double Trouble, but I suspect you share the sentiment. I have 155 recordings of him playing it live-what can I say, I’m a fiend! It was one of the original “long slow covers on EC’s live albums that are always the best track for some reason” which introduced me to the blues, now and forever my favorite genre. I play electric guitar and have a blast fiddling around, but what comes out of me is sort of Irish scales (more like Freddie King runs than Otish Rush staccato). So a direct, show-and-tell type of instruction like you provide with this video is unspeakably helpful for me. You sound as close to Clapton as I’ve heard, you love the same song I do, you understand the theory better than me, and you’re willing to share it; I couldn’t be happier!

Don’t know how I missed this vid! “Double Trouble” was a number where Clapton always pulled out all the stops - definitely no holding back here; it’s the standout track from Just One Night imho and there are so many great performances on the album! Brilliant breakdown, Mike 👍
