In February 2021 Eric Clapton’s live shows at The Royal Albert Hall were canceled due to the global pandemic. Determined to play, he brought his band together in the English countryside. In the absence of a live audience, he decided to record the performances. This release is the culmination of their sessions together at Cowdray House, West Sussex, England.

EC: "The song was written about the situation between me, Nell (Pattie Boyd), and George (Harrison). It referred in part to her response to the news that George was getting married again. She took it quite hard, and I, in my arrogance, found that hard to understand. So I wrote this song about the peculiarity of our triangle, which finishes with the words

Guess that song was written about Patty Boyd too. George Harrison gave her the first golden ring. So much of songs, as in art, comes from our lives.

Great to see EC's hands firm and fingers flexible on the frets; voice strong and clear, every note completed...I prayed for his recovery and I'm pleased to see that God's Blessing is still upon this man. It's a beautifully captured video, a tremendous production to a timeless song.... the Legacy continues... thankful for the joy and happiness this remarkable man has brought us.

I’ve seen Eric 46 times. He’s Magnificent & I adore him. When I watched him Live in concert. I’m old he’s just a little older than me. I would never put a strain on him. He’s making breathtaking and I play his music every day.

I didn't want to watch/listen because I pre-ordered the album but I couldn't resist. Looking at these 4 old pals still there, enjoying being together on a stage and rocking a 40-years old song... man that's really something. God bless you guys

For those who ask... This is, almost certainly, the 12 strings guitar custom made for him by the luthier, and his guitar tech, Dan Dearnley. As you can see, the logo on the headstock shows two overlaps "D". (See "Where's Eric!" issue 49 for more information)
