But no one mentioning what the lyrics are explicitly about.... the ongoing plight of being black in racist America. This dude has practically created his own flavor of blues and has created his own chord voicings even. In a world with several great guitar players, it's truly impressive to stand out the way Eric Gales has. I love how he ads flavors of RnB, Gospel, Soul, and Neo-Soul to blues. It's masterful.

There are flavors of hip-hop, RnB, Neo-Soul, Soul, and gospel in his music. His music and sound are so intense and just flat-out penetrates the soul. Cory Wong described listening to Eric Gales best, it's like a religious experience.
