An all purpose threat on offense capable of scoring at any moment. Accounted for 17,000 all purpose yards rushing, receiving, and returning. Son of Cardinals great Terry Metcalf. Had two punt return touchdowns against the Steelers in 1993.

Just a beast. Loved to see Eric play. This was when football was at it's peak.

I lived in the Cleveland area when he was drafted. Very memorable in part I doubted his skill set that he could be effective. That didn't last long. He was a terror to those charged with stopping him, but was a delight to Cleveland fans.

Eric Metcalf was so ahead of his time as a wideout, running back and return specialist. He was so excited to watch him see him play in the NFL

3:47 the field eye view of that play shows the incredible agility and moves of the best returners -his cuts are lightning fast.

He didn't have enough offensive yardage or tds to make it into Canton. Great return man, in my opinion every bit as good as Devin Hester...

His average per carry, average per punt return, and average per kickoff return are all surprisingly low. Perhaps due to the fact he couldn't break tackles. Very exciting player, but more style than substance. Makes for a great highlight real though.

How is the audio so completely out of sync with the video?

It was intentional; I used the audio just as a talking point about the player instead of music. I've been doing that for a while as for me at least, the audio complements the video highlights and doesn't have to sync up precisely with what's actually going on.
