Eric not parrying is driving me nuts lol. Especially since he chose the dauntless shield, which rewards high risk parries and parry timing.

Using only one weapon against Tyr is a big mistake

Tips for combat: If you encounter a enemie with bifrost, poison or light. You can use the Spear and hold R2 near the enemie to syphon their elemental ability and use it against them, it can also provide a protection from those elements. I always use It against foes with bifrost Hope this helps out
