It's made for entertainment purposes, and for that, it's perfect :) By the way, I accept that Eric is best musician nowdays in EDM,specially if we talk about meaningful subjects. You can always find something "more" in his music, somekind of special aura which only can observed from great authors like Vangelis, Karl Jenkins, Ludovico Einaudi, Yann Tiersen etc.

This is the feeling I had when i finally realized that everything doesn’t mean anything. We’re just vibrating energy balls in space. Nature is truly chaotic, but it cannot be because we made the idea of chaos. Our problems as a civilization started when we comprehended the idea of comprehension. Nothing truly matters because it doesn’t exist. Ideas of happiness,sadness,religion,race,life and most importantly “you” don’t need to exist because we made them exists. Is is such a good representation in fact, that after the third time you watch this video our souls transmogrify into representations of the box shown, here. The cube is representing two pools of thought for the ambiguous "Feeling capable of seeing the end, Feeling capable of saying it's over." lyrics in no particular order: hopelessness/worldly issues (1:09) and dying relationships (1:57). I think the scenes in between the two thoughts are displaying the six classical sides of emotion we display (water representing tears for sadness and how we are vulnerable and transparent during those times, etc.) Towards the end of the video we see another cube to represent the relationship dynamic of the lyrics. Notice how both cubes face each other perfectly, seeing infinitely the end of themselves in each other, yet they are drawn to each other to try and focus and understand why this is - or are they just chasing the end? Either way, they end up merging into one as all mirrored cubes floating above land do (I've seen a few in my time) and and they dissipate into the sands of time: "it's over".

Sorry but you are incorrect. This is a metaphor for the End Times. The water represents a birth, or rebirth in this case of the Anti-Christ ( like how a woman's water breaks before she gives birth ). The black cube is an occult symbol of the ancient pagan religions = Saturn/Satan( which is why the Kaaba cube in Mecca is the most sacred site in Islam) This is why they show the omega symbol within the cube, as it means the end. Even the name of the song Tethers refers to the technology that will be utilized to usher in the Anti christ

Not sure hahaha but probably the cube represents the world. I heard some time ago that this cube could be the world, passing through past, present and future and everything is reflected on this cube / world. You can see how it gets 'corrupted' in some way when it's near the civilization, just as reality, we humans destroying the world slowly. Also you can see some things at the video which seem pretty close to reality too, like using the cube to our likes, making it some kind of mechanical, and maybe the most clear at 2:20 the ice cube melting sounds like the global warming problem.
