This is for everyone. I've done everything he said in this video just to get the best athete in my school. I eat clean, no junk food, period. Sleep in time, wake on 5 just to run and go to school on 730. No procrastination, no cell phone time, no injury excuse, no don't feel well excuse, but I stopped when I was having a severe cough (doctor's advice) but nothing else. I watched this video everyday to remember his every word. I got from 12.8 to 11.4 secs in 100m when everyone doubt I could win. The best moment is when you prove to the people who doubt you and you feel like you can achieve anything in life. Ignore everyone else and trust yourself. All you need is heart and passion.

Let's bump this: 4:53 - Number 01 - When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, than you will be successful 11:40 - Number 02 - To be able, AT ANY MOMENT, to sacrifice what you are for what you will become 15:35 - Number 03 - Pain is temporary, it may last for a minute, a hour or a day or even a year but eventually it will subside and something else will take his place. If I quit however it will last forever.

*I wish that I met Eric Thomas when I was between 10 and 15 years old. During those years I coasted my way through school when I should have needed someone other than my parents to tell me the honest truth about how success can be earned. What I can do now is be glad that I found Mr. Thomas' wisdom when I did. One day I'll return the favor.*

I watch this video as a reminder. Im second in my class as a high school senior, 4.0 gpa. I watch this video to remind me that hard work is more important than intelligence. I work hard as hell for my position. The person who is number one always asks me why I work so hard. One day I'm going to pass her, thats why. When intelligence isn't enough, hard work is. God dammit I love Eric Thomas.

JustInsanity how do you get to the top of your class with a 4.0 GPA? Does your high school have lower multipliers or less people?
@justinsanity501
@justinsanity501 7 жыл бұрын
Shiny Sphinx its a 4.0 unweighted, I use 4.0 because more people are familiar with that format for gpa. If I told you my weighted gpa was a 107.9, you wouldn't know how good it is because you don't know how my school weighs classes. But to put it in perspective, Im scond with a 107.9 and the current valedictorian is 108.0. It is very close.

Your story has inspired me. I am going to take the GMAT exam next Monday. But my current score is so far compared to the desire score. Many times I want to give up partly because of my health. I've got an accident recently so my mind doesn't work properly and takes a lot of time to make a decision. But my friend told me that "Just try it!" So I will take the test. I need more hard work now.

If this is the first time you have seen this video I just want to let you know that this guy is Dr Eric Thomas aka. ET the hiphop preacher. He has his own KZfaq channel that is filled with loads of inspirational and motivational videos like this one. Just thought I'd mention it in the comments so you can carry on being inspired by him. I discovered him a good couple of years ago and he has helped me out immensely. Whoever you are I am sending positive and lucky vibes your way. You can do whatever you set your mind to. Work on it every single day and you will get through anything. Your current situation does not have to be your final destination. Create your perfect life from the ground upwards. You deserve everything!! Stay strong and keep going xx

Great advice. Don't take everything literally though. Get your 8 hours sleep as much as you can. If you have something you have to publish by the next day then yeah this once. Or you have a website you need to create this week then yeah reduce your sleeping. Not sleeping enough is a problem in itself. Its the principle of prioritising work over sleep. Really it should be a split between success and health.
@123Oogie
@123Oogie 8 жыл бұрын
He's not saying literally deprive yourself of sleep to be successful. He's saying that if you really want to be successful, you're not gonna be thinking about how much you want to sleep or eat. Rest and sleep isn't going to be a priority when you want succeed so bad, success the only thing in your mind.
@Jaketheaxman
@Jaketheaxman 5 жыл бұрын
He is saying you have to want to be successful so much that you would be willing to miss some sleep for it. So if you do want to be successful, the concept of enough or not enough sleep does not matter, because it is not your focus. You have to *DREAM* about success. And sometimes tour health has to be reduced temporarily in order for you to know what your *really* want.

Sold my television 4 years ago; put "No sales or religious callers" on my front door; "Personally addressed mail only" on my letterbox. I've cut ties with all toxic and negative people. Gain = around 35 hours a week. Spend that time reading, researching and setting up my new internet business ... developing a product and marketing strategy. I'm no genius ... middle aged, ex-housewife but I am determined and tenacious. Do not miss TV, door sales people, unwanted mail or abusive people. I'm now far more motivated after viewing Eric Thomas - he speaks from the heart. Good stuff.

Hi Eric, I have been listening to your ‘secret to success’ since I was in university and now im at my 30. My goal was to graduate with good grades, go to USA, get a good job once I travel back to my country, buy a car with my own earnings… now at my 30, I achieved all my goals. All because of your speech. I never give up during my downs because I kept remember and repeat your speech in my head. So today I would like to thank you that you brought this speech to the world, to social media. And I thank myself that I found you and that I never give up. Now I will continue to chase for my future goals.

I am now in a point in life where I can be free to choose what kind of life I'll live. It's about choosing my own path and do what I love and what I want to do or just saying "yes" to my father's plan for my life. I am 23 now, and I know I am capable of choosing for myself. Should I fail with my own decision, I am responsible for it and will only blame myself. Now, my father is forcing me to take the job he wants. I feel compelled and unmotivated. So of course, I chose mine. My father was so disappointed and not pleased. I do feel bad for him, but I am a man now that needs to take on life. I am planning to move out soon. I hope I can find success and someday I will be proud to say I did it my way. This motivational talk pumped me up and gave me a big push. I want to thank Eric Thomas for this. Hope more people will find this and draw strength from it.

Feels good to be me. I had people when I was 16 tell me I will never be taken serious, and that I will never amount to anything I said I would. I told them, the next time you see me I'll will be changed. I started working out regularly everyday from January 24, 2015 to present day and the difference is tremendous I showed them up and now they respect me. If you work at something and put your all into it. You can achieve anything. Like Eric Thomas said if you quit the pain will last forever. for that I will never quit!

If there is one thing I have learned in this life it is this: People will always tell you NO, knock you down, tell you it can not be done that you are not good enough.. In my experience if you pay attention to this you are destined to disappear in to the background of this world. You have to take life by the balls and refuse to give in! You will face adversity, disappointment and grief but in the end what is it?!? What is it but a thought in your mind, your own ability to control your emotions and keep moving forward! Never take no for an answer because of you want something bad enough none of it matters! Nothing anybody can say or do can deter you from your goal.. Ok they may put obstacles in your way, slow you down, cause you pain but in the end they cannot stop you unless YOU let them!.. Im a firefighter, but first I was a kid who was told he would fail, never amount to much, to give up because what I wanted was to hard, to far fetched!.. Never give up! I didn't!..

I'm not a kid. I'm middle age. never went to prison, never was addicted to drugs... I was lazy, and played around... I just got a degree in computer tech... useless... waited to long... the fight is hard if you wait. nobody wants you when you old or getting near it. yall kids better listen to Eric Thomas. you can ease your way under the table and walk in mud or climb the mountains and use the sidewalk and get there 20 years early. the choice is yours! I went neck deep in the mud. it's took me 20 years to get my knees above it, and now they breaking out from under me. ripped out my knee, but down here under the table in the mud there is no insurance, workers comp, workers rights, people will put their hands on you, and sometimes they keep your pay.. worked 60 hours a week last month for free. down here there is no paperwork to prove it. 240 hours gone... slavery is still here, and she don't see no colors, she just sees another fool in her mud... don't want to climb? come under the table and get in her mud, but you better know we making men down here. we will claw our way up your back and hold you under to catch our breath. we will even refuse to teach you how to work to keep you dumb and not a threat to us. there is no teachers here. you figure it out. it takes years... now this isn't jail. this is under the table, just one step away, and sometimes that step looks to be up... sorry I kept ya, but I got to go. I got crawl out from under this table, out of this mud, and go climb a mountain... even if it kills me... ( for you who don't know, under the table is nontaxed work)(( Eric you do excellent work. I'm glad rob bailey and the hustle standard on Pandora plays your stuff!))

So... I have been following DR. ET for a couple of years now, and sometimes I get a little overwelmed by all the TGIM and Breathe University and ALL IN and everything and it's all good, but sometimes I just need to go back to the beginning and hear some raw ET before all the polish.

Thank you so much, I needed this. My cardio isn't up to par in the fire academy. This gives me the strength and courage to ignore the pain and have my best foot forward.

+Gabriel Navarro nothing wrong with cellphone, nothing wrong with tv or anything like that. It is all about how you use it. I only use my phone to read books and sometimes informative articles and send messages only when required(no long chats). I use the internet only for what i need to help me with my dream, thats all. If you want it bad enough youll stop wasting time. The currency of life is energy, so only spend energy on what will help you, nothing else.

I shared this video with a couple of my classes at the community college; it seemed that the students in my classes chose to feel offended instead of thankful. Honesty does not seem to work with many young people today; they only want empathy and nothing else.

+Reza AP well , that "clever dude" was either trying to say something cool, or he is one of the many who are greedy and selfish, the best kind of people in this world are the ones that give unconditionally and these people share their knowledge and experience to make the world a better place by pushing others up to greatness. (if your post was just a joke ,don't mind answering)

Watched this video in the last quarter of 2015, at that time I was in the last semester of my 3rd year in college my average GPA was 2.63 out of 4.. And I actually didn't sleep to achieve my goal to reach 3.0 when I finish my bachelor degree and get a job... And I didn't achieve the 3.0 but got 2.95 and got the job... And the job was the thing I actually wanted the average was only tool to get it...

Yes I am in the moment where I want succes as much as I want breath. I am not speaking to friends that much anymore as they distract me from my goals. I am overcoming frustration daily, not giving up daily, crying sometimes, trying as hard as I can, fighting with myself, agains myself, against my fucking laziness, procrastination, every day one more step...Fuck this shit. I will make it !!! No matter what it takes. ..

just watch the full vid and take it to heart, #1 how bad do you want it "if you want to succeed as bas as you want to breath you will be successful" #2 the important this is this "to be able at any moment to sacrifice what you are for what you will become" #3 pain is temporary it may last for a minute or an hour or a day or even a year but eventually it will subside and something else will take it's place if i quit however it will last forever.
