Hi Erica. Thank you for sharing the ins and outs of such a high tech iron. While it may not be something I might purchase, I love seeing and learning. I hope you enjoy this new addition to your sewing room. I have a feeling we will all benefit; future Erica is always so generous with tutorials, patterns, etc and looks like this iron will cut down on your pressing time enormously. Win Win!

That is top of the line for sure. If my future self gets to spend more time quilting and sewing, I can see making the investment. I love the dry steam function. It’s like the Dyson of irons.

Sorry, Erica. I would have to agree with some of these comments. It's hard enough to make ends meet in this economy. I have no idea what it cost, however when you go to the website they don't even disclose the price without sending them your email. My iron does all of this for 60. Dollars. Most 20. Dollar irons will as well. I still love you and enjoy your videos. 😊😊😊

I am happy for you. For me, I look for an iron with lots steam holes, clear water tank on the iron and a light weight iron. Also the cost has to be reasonable.This iron is way too expensive for iron. Anyway, I am glad you are happy with your iron.

Your the first "user" review video I have found. THANK YOU! I have been thinking about this model for 3 years. I tried to go see one, however all the stores listed on the Laurastar website near me don’t sell them anymore. Yes it’s expensive but if it will save me time removing wrinkles from my washed yardage (I spend HOURS ironing my newly purchased fabrics before cutting them) it will be worth it. Being an accountant once I save 35 hours it will have paid for itself 😂. I’m just nervous about buying something this expensive without touching it and seeing it in action in person before buying it. Especially since I plan on using it with my Polder ironing board. AMZ has free returns with my Prime membership & there is a 5% off coupon and my birthday is coming soon….hmmmm

How is ironing up and down with this compared to the normal Lift range? That "V" groove seems like it would get in the way of making a smooth ironing and it might put some V marks on the fabric

I've been eyeing this for months! Finally a great review. But I did have one question....has anyone had issues with this particular iron having too much wattage and blowing a fuse? I've noticed that with my Oliso. I have to turn off my Oliso to use my sewing machine and vice-versa or else the power goes out. Any thoughts?

This iron looks very interesting. Grateful for your review. Would you say at this point you like it better than your Oliso or about the same?
@erica_arndt
@erica_arndt 8 ай бұрын
My Oliso doesn't do great with steam, it spits out brown stuff if you leave water in it, and it's the wet steam which can shrink the fabric. So far I'm loving the Titan, the dry steam is awesome and my blocks are flat as can be! Plus I love that I can use it on EVERYTHING! Knit, cross stitch, couch cushions, pillows, prom dresses, etc!

Hi Erica, I recently got one of these irons and I’m curious about how yours performs. My steam doesn’t seem dry… often times it actually spits out a lot of water. I haven’t used the pulse option. It seems I don’t know how to actually use it

Im wondering the same thing. I just bought one and have used it over the weekend. Love how it works for piecing quilts, but my ironing board cover is wet and so is the underside, dripping water onto my carpet.
@RhondaW33
@RhondaW33 2 ай бұрын
Same here, after using mine I realized the floor under my ironing board had small puddles of water, thank goodness it didn’t damage the wood floor. Have either of you ladies experienced a strong chemical odor with your iron? Mine smells horrible, I had to open the windows in my sewing room and the room smelled for hours after it was shut off. I’m not sure if this is considered “normal”. I may send mine back for that reason alone.
@bythewell4god234
@bythewell4god234 2 ай бұрын
@@RhondaW33 Yes, the new chemical smell was pretty strong. I had to sew with my window open as well. But after sewing and using it for two full days, the smell is gone. I love how flat my piecing is, but I am worried about all the condensation. Maybe that is why there is a fan under the Laurastar Smart System???
@RhondaW33
@RhondaW33 2 ай бұрын
It’s good to know the smell may dissipate. I was thinking the exact same thing about the fan. For now I’ll put a towel on the floor under my board, but I’m torn as to whether I will keep it or not.
@bythewell4god234
@bythewell4god234 2 ай бұрын
@@RhondaW33 I have been talking directly to a Laurastar technician and the Sales Manager. They both say they have not heard of this condensation issue. I am going to use a wool mat this weekend and let them know how that goes. We determined that I am doing everything right and so I am thinking I will have a soaked wool mat as well. But keeping an open mind as I love the iron aside from this problem.
@sharonparker7867

Erica, do you know if the iron would work using the wool mats or is it best to make a small fabric covered board? Thank you for always sharing all the wisdom and talent with us. You are the BEST! ❤

@erica_arndt 8 ай бұрын
Hi! yes, you can use it with a wool mat as well, the dry steam is better than wet on wool. I'm finding it works great on my fabric covered board as well, the board on the bottom, plus a tailor's clapper is awesome! Though I will say I haven't really had to use my Tailor's Clapper with this iron either! :)

Will do! I don't have space for their pressing board, and the Titan and other models are nice and compact. It sits on my pressing board or floor when not in use and all of the cords wrap around nicely so it doesn't take up much space.

Could you explain the overriding of the auto off feature please. Does the iron stay hot and ready to use or does it just stay warm? Also when you hold the start stop button to override the auto off feature do the two buttons stay red or is the middle button the only one that stays lit? Thanks for the review and recommendation.
@erica_arndt
@erica_arndt 5 ай бұрын
Hi! Yes, it stays hot and ready! The buttons just flash red, then go off, so just the middle stays lit. That is because the other two buttons light up when you're out of water or need to change the filter.

I purchased this iron and mine smells horrible, much worse than the Oliso. Not really a burning smell, more like a chemical smell. My sewing room stinks hours after it’s been shut off. I’ve had mine a few days and I love how it makes my blocks super flat, but I’m not sure I can live with this smell. 🙁 I’m surprised to hear you aren’t having any issues. Maybe I’ll contact Laurastar.
