DRI DUCK presents Ditch Diggers, a poem by Eric Borden.
After hearing someone refer to people who don't go to college as "ditch diggers" in a not-so-flattering way, Eric was inspired to write a powerful poem that reversed the negative connotation of blue-collar workers. Eric's poem has inspired many individuals in and out of skilled trades by shining a light on the importance of people who build this world and love what they do. In turn, it inspires acts of kindness, which is how #ThankADitchDigger was born.

The greatest honor I had was serving this country in the U.S. Air Force. I also got skills and learned a trade in telecommunications. I think trades are forgotten especially what the military can teach you in. A lot of these kids now out of high school want to youtube stars unfortunately. Learn a skill, master a trade. It can open doors to so many opportunities.

You see like the song by David Allen coe “you don’t have to call me darlin” I’d say you haven’t wrote the perfect song because you didn’t mention anything about MILLWRIGHTS , sheet metal workers, or the time away from our families , and the pain we cause our body so send me the next verse - KC 1 5 2 9
