The city of #Erice, located in the west of the island of #Sicily, is shrouded in many legends and stories.
The city is located at an altitude of 750 meters above sea level at the top of the mountain of the same name.
According to legend, the city was founded by Eriks, the son of the goddess Venus, after whom he was named.
The first inhabitants of Erice are the elims who lived here from the 15th century BC.
The city attracts with its medieval flavor - and today its historical center looks like in the Middle Ages - narrow, stone-paved streets, low houses.
Erice is included to list "The Most Beautiful Small Cities of #Italy".
