The story goes that Kermur de Legal actually did this irl in the match against Saint-Brie that serves as the example for the Legal trap (0:20). He touched his "pinned" knight before saying something like "oh no..." and quickly took his hand away. His opponent still had him move the knight according to the touch-move rule, and the rest is history.

I’m a 2000+ rapid player and have reached the point where I can struggle to play a complete game blindfold, which I have done a few times OTB and against the engine where all the squares show no pieces. It looks so much more stressful to play blindfold and type the moves in like Eric does. It’s really impressive how he does this with fast time control.
