Love siser easyweed and lasts so much longer with washes and drying. You are right all Cricut brand materials for shirts peels after first wash.

Today I just bought an old legacy cricut creator. It is small, and I had actually intended to scavenge the knife for my larger CNC table, but it is actually a pretty solid little machine. Going to get some adhesive matts for it tomorrow, and try cut something. The software was interesting to figure out, but sure cuts alot 5 works with the library plugin that is provided on their website. Cricut is totally useless in terms of getting a legacy machine going. Cost $80 for the SCAL 5 license, but now I can cut any design I want. Crazy how people used to be stuck depending on cartridges..

For vinyl to stay it has to heat to a certain tempt you can’t over heat it I use both vinyl never had a problem with either, but I prefer siser.

I’ve used Cricut iron on for years, and have never had it come off. Only material that came off was Siser. Seen a shirt done with half Cricut and half Siser-it was washed 140 times and both sides stuck equally well.

Thank you for making this video. I just got my very first Cricut and it’s a Maker. My husband got it for me because I sell my woodworking crafts locally & it’ll help me expand my items. I’ve been scared to use anything except Cricut brand items because I don’t want to tear up my Maker. Love finding deals!! Also, what is the best stencil material to use? Like the plastic stencil material to reuse over and over again, like store bought stencils.

You are going to love your Cricut Maker, It is an excellent machine don't worry about breaking it with Oracle vinyl. I too use it for my business and for reusable stencils I use vinyl .005 thick also called acetate. Hope this helps xoxo Sandy

The reusable plastic mats at the dollar tree are great for this. Just make sure you're using the right blades for your machine.

Hey, I just bought the Cricuit Maker , actually my husband did around Christmas time and I have yet to use it because I’m a bit intimidated I guess that’s the right word. It does so much I honestly don’t know where to begin. I just found you on here and subscribed . I’m hoping I can learn a thing or two from you because my hubby is like .... I bought you the machine why haven’t you used it yet....... ?..... no real reason other than where the heck to even begin... if you have any suggestions for someone who has never used one of these and really just got into crafting I would really appreciate it. I recommend a roll of 6 inch wide and a roll of 12 inch wide! This way if you do have larger applications, you can still get a smooth application! But for sure, offbrand is key!!!

Think you for this video and the tips on SIser vinyl & transfer tape. I purchased an 8 in 1 swing away 15x15 heat press machine but it didn't come with an instruction manual or heat guide. I have a Cricket Maker/Explore Air 2 & a Cricket Heat Press. I would like to use the other heat press to create shirts but I admit I'm a little intimidated not having instructions on use or assembly for the cup/hat accessories. Could you please, please, please do a video on how you use/assembly or direct me to another online video? Thank you in advance for your help.

I just got a cricket maker for Christmas. I have the original cricut I’ve never used lol. I figured I best go big or not at all with the new one. I was also advised to not buy the cricut materials due to too expensive, poor quality, and little value for the money. Luckily I have a good coach helping me. I do like the looks of that large roll of tape. It doesn’t look as sticky as the cricut brand. I was told the cricut brand is too sticky and rips your design right back off so I think I’ll try your brand. Any tips or tricks would greatly be appreciated. Thank you, you’re awesome 😎

You are going to love it, use it. I like to take my transfer tape and stick on my jeans, so it's not so sticky. Actually Dollar Tree and Walmart both sell Con-Tact Brand shelf liner. It's cheap and my favorite. xoxo Sandy

What pressure do you set your cricut to when you cut the vinyl? As my cricut won't cut vinyl right, it's a newer blade, it's the off brand from hobby lobby vinyl I've been playing with and I've set it to cut vinyl, didn't even cut through the vinyl, I added more pressure, didn't work, I even set it to heavy outdoor vinyl, no luck. I put it on transparency setting an it cut all the way through even the backing of the vinyl paper🤦 any help would be great! I will keep trying different settings but thought I would ask first! Thanks!

I contacted Cricut about a problem I was having with my Maker. Still waiting for a response. One of the rollers that feeds the mat keeps coming off track. Any ideas on how to stop it from doing that? My warranty of course is up already. ☹ Any help would be appreciated. Ty in advance.

Thank you Mr. Eric for sharing. Now, with the "cricut" transfer tape, you are right that it is way too sticky and if you're not careful , it can get stuck against the paper itself when it folds over. The only thing I like about it is that it is very clear. I actually love that part. I don't like the lines on it for what I do with it but I see why people would need the lines. I will buy the one you mentioned and give it a shot. I am new to the cricut maker and love it so I want to know all there is to know (good & bad) about it.

I had to pause and click on the link he mentioned to read what he actually said there. He said it so fast that I didn't catch it. I also wrote down "scissor". Sometimes I wish people would take their time to say it slowly or even spell it. I listen to videos with a paper and pen in hand and have to rewind sometimes to figure out what they said when they speak fast.

I’m a newbie. What surfaces can you use the HTV on? That is what I find confusing until I can learn what to use on what surface Barbara in No. California

HTV works best on cotton or polyester or cotton/poly blends. Other synthetic fabrics, like acrylic, won't work correctly because they will melt under the heat of an iron. For more advanced crafters, you can apply HTV to mugs, baseball hats, footballs and even wood! xoxo Sandy

Hello. Just came across your channel and want to say thank you for the tips. I'm going to check out the transfer tape you recommended. I have a question for you too. I'm going to put some lettering on an outdoor sign (it's glass) - should I use the car wrap vinyl you put the link to in this thread or is there another type you would recommend? It gets very hot here (Oakdale, CA) so like up to 110 deg in the summer. 30 to 40 deg in winter. It's a small area, 24x36. What's your recommended vinyl? Thank you .

Siser and Oracal are far better product quality vs Cricut brand - you end up getting way more material when you buy the commercial materials - I buy both from commercial suppliers and have been super happy with both brands. Greenstar 6" transfer tape is pretty on point too.

Hello. I have a question. I just got the Explore Air yesterday. With that transfer tape, can you use it for HTV (iron-on) or only for sticking to non-clothing items? Thanks.

You don't need transfer tape for HTV, as it comes on what's called a "carrier sheet". That is what you put down on the mat, then cut the design in reverse (mirrored). After weeding, you pick it up, turn it over, and set down on the fabric where you want it. Cover with a cloth, or a teflon sheet, iron, and when it's ready, peel off the clear carrier sheet. You can find videos that walk you through the process.

I use Starcraft Softflex. Never had any issues with it. I get it at 143vinyl for $34 on 5yrd rolls. Great stuff. Micheals and Joannes want $49. For just 5 feet of Cricut and Siser. Very over priced in my opinion.

Siser is most definitely the far superior HTV. It is not more expensive, Cricut HTV is small rolls and quite a bit more if you figure it out in 12x12 sheets.

Heat transfer vinyl you press on with heat. Permanent vinyl is sticky and you do not heat it, it is for hard surfaces.

My son bought me a cricut machine at a pawn shop it has nothing with it but a couple of picks and scissors, one cutting blade, power cord, no instruction booklet no cutting mats. Not sure what to do with it now? Most tutorials are way to far along for me right now??? any ideas and help would be much appreciated Thank you!

hi, first off join a cricut group. i promise you'll get support there. secondly, go to cricut and get the software. play with it once it is working because youre not going to learn a whole heck of alot here on youtube until youve done that. if you are on reddit, join r/cricutbutcrass. good group making rude things but the support i get from there is awesome. im sure FB has some awesome groups on there too.

watch beginner cricut youtube videos it is how I learned how to do it. You will get great buy at a pawn shop you have to buy everything individually unless you pay more for a bundle anyway.. Good luck!

Silhouette Software is by far superior than Cricut. If you get the Business Edition level software you can import and export svg format. Then take the svg and import into Design Space. Buying from Oracal and Siser vinyl Nyla from online distributors is cheaper per square inch then what you buy from Micheal’s or Walmart. Eric find a new distributor like Craftcuttersupply.com.

@Mrs Howie You can purchase that transfer tape from Expressions Vinyl. It it the best and a 100’ roll is about $10. Good luck...... expressionsvinyl.com/transfer-tape/
