Thank you! Erik is brilliant. He won Swedish Idol in 2009 and most recently was lead singer for Skid Row. He just recently stepped down to pursue treatment for leukemia. He has done collabs with Dan and Tommy too! Wishing Erik the best!

As I have mentioned in other comments Dolly Parton wrote this song and was the first to record it. Dolly is special but her voice is different to Erik's. She has a different kind of power. I absolutely ❤ Erik's voice for this song. . I think he did an amazing cover. And yes to the sax. ❤ from a 🇨🇦 Grammy

Erik was singer in H.E.A.T. and Skid Row. And you remember right for the swedish item. He did a cover with Tommy Johansson - as you mentioned - and with Dan Vasc a cover of H.E.A.T.s Breaking the Silence - I highly recommend it too.

So, you have discovered our second Swedish rock singer, beside Tommy Johansson. Erik has collaberated with both Dan Vasc and Tommy. Now it's only to wait for a collab btw Dan and Tommy to go full circle. Just as the 3 Tenors spread opera, I'd like to see our 3 Metal tenors conquer the world together. Same day Erik released this, Tommy did cover of Beyonce Texan Hold Em , a very hilarious one. Tommy has also covered Skid Rows 18 and Life in a manner approverd highly by Skid Row member. At the moment we are awaiting next Erik and Tommy collab, as promised by them.

Wow just doesn't do this justice. Erik's powerful vocal skills are off the charts! He is an amazing artist that has faced so many obstacles in his life...and won! And aren't we the fortunate ones. I saw in the comments that the song that he and Dan Vasc collaborated on, Breaking the Silence, was suggested. I hope you feature that someday as well. Erik is on my list of favourite singers, I think partly because I first knew of him from his Swedish Idol win, and his backstory is so inspirational. BTW - Marc Martel covers this song and it's stellar. Cheers!

Yes both songs are amazing!❤️‍🔥🎶❤️‍🔥 “Headless Cross” is special because it’s one of the first songs Erik recorded when he recovered from his bone transplant. So he is not in good shape and he doesn’t this song so Amazing Good anyway. He is so talented and has so beautiful soul. He was the winner of Swedish Idol 2009🇸🇪 and the song he was singing was “18 a life” with “Skid Row”. He joined H.e.a.t 2010 to 2020. Then he planning to start a music business in South Africa where his sister lives. But when he and his wife and little son(only three years old)was on their way and planned their last this. Erik was so tired so his wife said he has to go to the hospital. Then everything happened very quickly. Because he has lymphoma leukemia and was very sick. He thought he was going to die…💔😭This was in the beginning of the summer 2021. He got his bone transplant and the treatment was ready the last August 2021. But he wasn’t okay of course so soon. But he got a email from Rachel in “Skid Row”, asking if Erik could join them for a few songs in Mars 2022? Erik thinking, this must be a joke and didn’t care about the email. Then it came again. At least Erik understood it was not a joke. He’s stay on the stage Mars 24 2022 with “Skid Row” as the front singer for the first time, only a half year after his treatment.❤️‍🔥🎶❤️‍🔥🎶❤️‍🔥 But sadly he feels that he promised that guy he was summer 2021 in the hospital, “Health First”. And he feels he doesn’t hold his promise to that guy. So he jumped off his biggest dream as a singer in “Skid Row”. But now he work on his own song and covers at home here in Sweden🇸🇪.(I’m Swedish too😉) Sorry if something is hard to understand in my text. But thank you and I really hope you reacting to his new Cover from yesterday.❤️‍🔥🎶❤️‍🔥🎶❤️‍🔥 Absolutely amazing cover Erik has done. “Dream On”🎶❤️‍🔥🎶❤️‍🔥 Hugs from me and Sweden😊 🇸🇪

I followed Erik since Idol. He is amazing. This is the best performance he ever done. The song fits him crazy good. He took it to a new level. This is what I call a perfect power ballad.

He did a good job of the Whitney Houston style of this song, it is a difficult song to sing and sound like you aren't comparing yourself to Whitney Houston. Too many who can't and shouldn't try to hit Whitney's high notes and miss badly. I'm sure the songwriter and original artist Dolly Parton would have nothing but praise for him as she does enjoy how others interpret her songs. Whitney's version was about the vocal delivery like she sang the song to the whole world, Dolly's is much more intimate like she's singing to just you. She wrote the song in 1973, hit number 1 on the country charts with it in 1974, used it in the music soundtrack and movie Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and sang it to Burt Reynolds and hit number 1 again in 1982, Whitney had her huge cover hit in the early 90s, and Dolly again charted the song with Vince Gill as a duet in 1995. The little song that just keeps going. It remains the best selling single by a female of all time (Whitney) and best selling single by a female songwriter (Dolly) of all time.
