Big thanks to Ryley for the gift and exposing me to these great straps. If you want comfort with a story behind the product look no further. These are great and I 100% support buying these straps. Almost think it’s a must for all of us watch crazy’s to at least have one.

In the 80s when I was doing a lot of downhill skiing, I made my own watch strap out of a ski strap, one of those straps you used in the 80s/90s to keep your skiis together while storing or carrying them. Back then the civilian market had nothing like todays Nato-straps or the Marine National, today I realise I was on to something, but my friends tought it was crazy to have a watchstrap like that.

Damn dude you really lost out! What a great origin story that would’ve been. Not dissimilar from the MN/parachute strap. French combat divers (Nageurs de Combat) fashioned these straps out of parachute material to get a better and more comfortable fit that can be adjusted on the fly You made the civilian/ski/winter sport “variant”, the Skijumper Mk I haha I think you can still give it a go. Why not, eh?

Hooking the clasp is tricky. I found that if I stick a pen under the strap and clip - I can hook the clasp easily! The strap is super comfortable.

I've got a grey MN with the lume centerline and the numbers embossed down the side - it's pretty killer. Infinitely adjustable which is something few straps can claim.

I've been using these MN straps for awhile now. And I've developed a pretty good method for getting the hook set. This might be a little hard to follow but I'll give it a shot: I grab the hook side with my thumb and index finger and pull the strap to where it will hook in (but don't try to push the hook in yet, leave it above). Then, while still holding the hook above the buckle, I use my middle finger to push up on the bottom right side of the buckle (where the hook fits). That allows me to then push the hook down easily with my thumb because you've basically created a gap between the buckle and the strap itself. Then you're done. I'm sure that didn't make much sense, a video would probably be more helpful.

I have been really interested in buying one of these original style straps. I like the way it stretches & the thinness of the strap. But I’m hesitant due to seeing how it might be hard to connect together once on the wrist. But I think it’s something that I’m going to have at least try once. Looks great on the Khaki!! Thank you Rob for the video and I’m loving the Seiko SRPB07!!

Looks like you've almost got it... what I do is hold the receiving bit perpendicular from the wrist from my pointer finger while using another finger and thumb to push the buckle end into it. You can also use a lower finger and shove it on the bottom wrist side of the receiving end between your wrist and the strap, which will raise the buckle up to that position and then use a forefinger and thumb to thread it in

Pro-tip for anyone with one of these straps. When you get it. Wet it first. SOAKED wet. Put it on your watch (if you have a dive watch you can reverse the order.) Adjust the strap so its a bit tighter than you would like. Over the next hour as it's drying. The adjustment will naturally slide to make it a perfect fit. And the drying process will help it break in to a perfect fit. I love this strap so much. It took breaking it in to fully appreciate it though. I have 3 now haha.

These are great...but the price....is just ridiculous.....to the point where there are equally good products coming out now for a third of these prices (or less). Are these nicer? Yes. But seriously, think on these prices. 'Reassuringly expensive' is where you want to be. Not $80 bucks for a piece of elastic and a couple of stamped bits of metal. These cost 5-10 bucks for FOB (frieght on board) cost. Sort it out. Make good profit....yes...but always be fair with your customers.

Hi Rob, I really like this strap you’re introducing but if you are having trouble I can’t imagine me attempting to try it. I will check them out. mine came too big, way too long to put the clasp (which is bulky and next to impossible to hook on without taking off the strap/watch) under your wrist - 3" tail when tight too wrist - they can be returned and I will be as I was very disappointed. Also clasp / hook doesnt sit flat as the hook space is 3 x the width of the hook that hooks into it. In the end, its piece of elastic webbing for 50 UK pounds - Ill stick with my zooloo marathon nylon mil spec for a third the price and more slimline and comfortable.

I’ve tried these and I just don’t see what people see in them. I was constantly taking the watch off, tightening it up over and over all day. For $100 you’d think it would let do that. Ever hour or so the watch would be flopping around and I’d have to tighten it all over again.

I only own two ‘military’ watches and both have fixed strap bars (not spring bars). I really don’t understand the point of a military strap that can’t be fitted to a military watch, think I’ll stick to Zulus and NATO’s.

The reason these are popular with Doxa collectors is because Ericka’s husband is a Doxa collector. The concept for these straps derivatives from that.

One of my biggest issues with braclets are the ease of adjustability. I seen Omega and couple others have the tool less adjust but I'll just wear something that works faster and cost way less.

I was thinking about getting one of these but after watching this footage I will give then a miss. What a faff to try and put on. I'll stick to the genuine article that is the NATO. Nothing wrong with your presentation by the way just the mechanics of putting the strap on the wrist seems like too much effort for my liking.

a good nato, out of a good nylon with good hardware and good stichings costs arount ~ 30€, of course, you can cheap out an wear your 100 - 1000 € watch on a cheap nato, but please dont cry, if the springbar in the buckle fails and you loose your watch. the ericas original are handmade, have high quality hardware and high quality parachute nylon.. for the quality 50 - 80 € is not a lot (but you can buy cheaper alternatives for round about 30 €, but often, they ceapen out at the nylon-quality and also dont give a sh*t about exact messurements

Horrible strap. Not only is it difficult if not impossible to hook, but once you have it hooked, it unhooks with the slightest movement. Totally over priced junk that for some reason, everyone loves in a sheepish way. Everyone has the same ton of complaints and then says how wonderful it is.
