I am so thrilled to share this experience with you!
3 years ago I started this KZfaq channel, because I wanted to make videoes about my sailing journeys around the cold waters of the North Sea. I couldnt find anything related to singlehanded winter sailing so I desided to start making it myself.
I dreamt of covering the three islands Shetland, Fair Isle, and if possible, the mighty Faroe Islands. All in the tracks of our northern ancient Vikings, a 1000 years ago.
The last one I fought for in three years without having the opurtunity to take on it.
But in April this year 2019, it all happened.
3 years of studying film techniques, building a my KZfaq channel and how to make a story of my adventure has now finally found its place in this video.
I hope you find it inspiring and share it with the ones you think need to see this.
If you love something and work hard enough for it, it will happen, no mather what it is. And if something stands in your way- then we beat to quarters, and get to work. But you need to love it pasionatly. Thats the only criteria.

Absolutely one of the top sailing channels. You really put your heart, sole and creativity into these. But.....if you go overboard we all lose you and your talents. Please wear a harness! I hate mine, and it's actually dangerous for how clumsy it is. But it's kept me onboard more than once. Keep up the amazing work.

I've been very privileged to make contact with the Faroe Islands only a few times during my lifetime on Amateur Radio. But I've never seen the beauty of Faroe that you shared with us. Also, having been a sailor in the Pacific Ocean, your video really helped me to appreciate the difference between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. In my younger days, I might have been able to brave the cold as you have done, but I am in awe of your being able to do that. Thank you for sharing your experience and the beauty of Faroe Islands with us,

Your videos are absolutely incredible! To do the sailing alone would be such a challenge: I can't imagine doing all this while also finding the time to collect so much beautiful footage. Spot-on post-production work as well-- love the editing, musical selections, etc... just an astounding accomplishment! Cheers!

In 2 years I plan to sail around the world. I'm planning for it now. And this is the very best channel. Erik doesn't show you him sunbathing and rockfishing, he shows sailing, often in wild seas. Brilliant videos for sailors by a sailor. One day I want to meet you Erik.

The other day a friend said, you know, sailing is the opposite of relaxing. Normally sailing is thought of as the most relaxing way to boat, but, I agreed with my friend. I love how on a power boat you are above the seas, you control the roll, and you able to go anywhere. I watch your adventures and wish to remake them with a motor boat. As a power boater, no matter what i do, I cannot get over the constant tacking of the sailboats. It is like a disruption of balance. Good luck and I cant wait to see your new videos.

You succeeded, Brother. The best part of the videography is its transparency. Shot after shot of interesting things and awe-inspiring islands standing up to the North Atlantic, and none of them interrupted by intrusive video production. Pure story telling. That is so hard to do in writing, and I'm sure in film-making, too. Sorry about your good camera, though. Saw it tipping, couldn't grab it through the screen. Hope it's repairable for less than it cost.

Erik Here is what one guy did: 1, Sailed an ordinary 35 ft boat across the North Sea in winter, alone, Now as far as I know nobody else has done this and documented it publicly. Even those original Vikings had shipmates! 2 Maintained and repaired the same boat, ( not to mention own, operate and maintain the video equipment) 3 video taped your own journey. 4. Flew a drone and made great videos of the spectacular landscape, villages and churches. 5 Edited the original video into a watchable production... 6. Did the voice over narrative.. If this was a Hollywood or some kind professional production/ documentary, then I bet it would take dozens of people and cost millions.$$ Erik, you just did the work of an entire team of people.... You were the movie Star, Director, Producer, Narrator, Stunt man , Special effects guy, Sound guy, Video- Cinamatographer, And I think I missed some professions and trades... All those skills within one person ! Amazing .

That jenniker sail is beautiful Erik! I'm sorry it gave you a scare but all's well that ends well. The description of the fog horn was interesting and it's haunting warning was eerily beautiful.
