I have to say the easiest position is decoy
@boshlovely2002
@boshlovely2002 3 жыл бұрын
@@coachoikawa4951 is that an official position? regardless though, there is no “easiest” position, to be a decoy you have to be a convincing threat to the other team which means you have to be able to make points and have the stamina to keep up the appearance that you’re going in for the point even when you aren’t
@coachoikawa4951
@coachoikawa4951 3 жыл бұрын
@@boshlovely2002, Of course, a decoy is an official position, like defence specialist it is only shown in-game, but the setter, middle blocker, opposite/outside hitter and libero are shown on a starting lineup. Keeping stamina to be a decoy is easy, most of the time it's just an approach and a fatigued jump, never really putting your all into it. If the decoy isn't an acceptable answer, then I'll say the hitters are the easiest positions, the setter can either bring the ball to you or you can be good enough to hit a bad ball, most of the time the setter is good and can bring you the ball (i said most of the time), the setter is the hardest position, the have to send a ball to a hitter overhand, and to a lot of people overhand isn't easy, but not only is it overhand, you need your hands to be in a certain position to get the right speed and as little spin as possible, for blockers, you have to analyze and not fall for any decoys, you have to use the 3 types of blocking which I don't know the names of but its where you keep your hands straight, you turn your wrists down, or you put your hands flat, but these methods only work on the type of hit, for a straight or a cut, you would keep your hands vertical, for a dink or feint, you would put your hands flat, for a spike you would turn your wrists down. The libero is also extremely difficult, you need to be fast and have fast reactions, depending on the type of hit you also need methods on receiving them, there are too many so I'll say a few, overhand, underhand, pancake, one arm, and many more. But as a hitter, you need to find the ball, jump and hit. I'm not saying the position is easy, I'm just saying its the easiest.

The Japan vs Italy play at 2:32 is beautifully executed volleyball. Things to note: 1. Strong serve from Japan for pressure 2. Great reception and high OPP attack down line from Italy 3. Incredible dig from Japan 4. Smart off speed shot to 3 from Italy 5. ANOTHER incredible up from Japan, played low, but... 6. Bump set from Japan to OH and played into the block to gain another in system swing opportunity 7. First contact off the block played high, but Ishikawa sets it 8. Nishida gets a no blocker swing opportunity and absolutely blasts it home for a kill One of my favorite highlights I've seen in a long time! Chills

I never really understood volleyball until I started watching Haikyuu and I started to absolutely fall in love with it. Most of my friends said I should be a middle blocker but I'm pretty short, only about 5'3 so I started trying the different positions. I really want to play as the libero, I'm pretty good at receives but I can't always get it to the setter which can get a little stressful. I really like playing the libero position though, so I'm kind of having trouble.

Every now and then I think about the changes in volleyball rules and practices since the 1970s. I was too young to know what it was like for the block to count as a touch-when the front-row player had to yell “One!” to let his teammates know they only had two touches left-but consider all of this: the “legalization” of virtually any kind of messy overhand contact on the first touch (what was once often called the “beach dig”); widespread back-row hitting (which in turn led to the obsolescence of “6-2” offenses); the hard-driven jump serve (and, in turn, the necessity of having at least a couple of really good passers on the court at all times); the growing importance of height and jumping ability (which was a big factor in the creation of the libero position); rally scoring in lieu of historically being able to score only when serving; a serve’s being able to hit the top of the net and fall over; and video replay (at least at high competition levels) in an effort to get more calls correct. My older brother took me to go see the USVBA Nationals in El Paso in 1978, in which a lot of the guys who later were on the 1984 Olympic team played, as well as a lot of college stars from the time. (Remember Joe Micah?) One play still stands out in my mind; I don’t remember who it was, but he ended up going under the net and diving out of bounds. He got up claiming vehemently that he hadn’t hit the net-but his ear was streaming blood precisely _from_ having hit the net!

Awesome video again thanks, I'm learning so much each time ! I'm 20yo setter, a very small one 170cm 😅 (5'7), and I've been playing volleyball for a year now. I've been practicing every day so that I could be a better player for my team mates and catch up to them. And I was wondering, would you recommend running as part of conditioning for stamina etc ? Thanks a lot, and looking forward to watch your next games !

Thank you for watching I hope you can get all your vb friends and teammates to watch! Keep working and getting better! I do suggest running but more sprints and agility for conditioning!
