I have the feeling over the years Amazon has been steady degrading in terms of 3rd party sellers quality control. Now they sell any garbage. If I wanted that I'd have ordered from other websites. At least, for now, one can complain if the product performs in a misleading way. Amazon will probably refund the money, so it may not be a total loss.
