The opposite happened to me. I got henna done for my parents' friend's wedding, and all the kids insisted that I was wearing a real tattoo even though I kept telling them it was henna (most of the kids at my school were either white or Hispanic, so they didn't know what that was. I tried to explain what it was, but they thought I was making it up.), and they even tried to get me in trouble for it by telling our teacher. I remember thinking that my teacher would actually believe them, and I thought I was gonna get in huge trouble. I was 8 by the way. Lol

A couple weeks later I got real glasses because I just happened to go to the eye doctor and be prescribed them, SO many people thought they were fake and kept telling me I was attention seeking and trying to be geeky (but to be fair, i was a geek i just wasnt cute or trendy 💀), ESPECIALLY because my prescription was so low that others who had to wear glasses thought they did nothing, but people who didn't wear glasses thought they improved their vision and had an identify crisis lol

I remember in the 2000's when i was a teenager i started my relationship with someone who's mother is a tattooer and he helps her since he was young so he was like the "mysterious" popular that everyone thought was so cool but he couldn't care less (he is like that kind of guy that hates attention but gets attention and it annoys him or just don't mind) he was the only one in the class or school that had a real tattoo (which at the time was considered as cool) and everyone wanted to get a tattoo from him , i always found it funny bc i personally wasn't interested at the time in tattoos and i didn't wanted one at all, ironic isn't? I was the kid in Y10 who’s parents let get a permanent tattoo (of a pixi 😂) on my shoulder blade whilst on holiday in Thailand (Koh Samui) after when I went back to school, i was dragged into isolation by my ICT teacher, my parents called and her dragging my shirt halfway off my back to show my parents that I had a tattoo. Both of them sat there and said “We know. We let her” and my dad then bollacked the teacher for dragging him out of a work meeting!
