The clear glass gems can be colored with glass paint, nail polish or acrylic paints. To make them frosted can paint them with Elmer’s glue and let dry to create that frosted look.

How do you keep the glue from sticking to the towel or table?? It oozes through the cracks of the glass beads.
@ErinReedMakes
@ErinReedMakes 4 жыл бұрын
the trick is to not use too much, but i also moved the beads before they fully set hard, sovthey did not stick to the paper towel. you can so use wax or parchment paper, or a non stick paper. Hope this helps!

Instead of marker, would acrylic paint work as well?
@ErinReedMakes
@ErinReedMakes 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Trishwish for watching - you can try it, but there is a very good chance that the acrylic will wash off since it is water based. The sharpies are solvent based, so it does not wash off with water :)

I use bamboo skewers in my garden, they don't rot like wood. They're not expensive, usually in one of the grocery aisles in a package....people use them for shishkebob. And they're easy to cut shorter if you want to. It looks like that is what is being used in the video.

Will nail polish stay on the clear ones?
@ErinReedMakes
@ErinReedMakes 2 ай бұрын
i would say yes for short term, but as for longevity, nail polish chips on your nails over time with wear and washing, so it would probably do the same with the stones

@ErinReedMakes
@ErinReedMakes 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Danielle Hill for watching - the glass stones are etched before i used the sharpie on them, if i had not done so the sharpie would wipe right off - the etching gives the stones a "tooth" for the marker to stick :)

@@ErinReedMakes I love the video but my question is how do you do etching?
@ErinReedMakes
@ErinReedMakes 5 жыл бұрын
ahh, so sorry misunderstood the questions. It is a solution or creme you can add to glass, mirrors, stone, and porcelain to give it a tooth. For the stone i used a liquid solution and submerged it for 15 min, but there is also a creme solution you can use.
