Janice made it superb in the way any woman could relate. There are so many Rock songs that were remakes and often stolen from blues bands. I heard this one and like it better for the feelings that escape in Franklin's voice as if she is experiencing it right now this instance.

I’ve never understood the reason talented siblings were never allowed to reach their highest level of success. Erma Franklin clearly had the VOICE , BEAUTY AND STYLE!
@Carlschwamberger12 жыл бұрын
The record companies of the era were obsessed with 'Star power'. The suits could not get their heads around putting more than one performer per category out front. Arethas fame was not just bought at the expense of her sisters, but to other artists like Etta James who saw their publicity dropped and contracts lapsed, so the ad men and promotion money could be focused on a single Property.

Many people from the younger generations have not been exposed to "classic rock" or "Rhythm & Blues" because of copyright issues (held by the recording industry) were preventing dissemination/exposure of this long forgotten hits even for radio stations. Over the last few years, recording companies have realized that they can make a profit by spreading these songs on the Internet which allows the collectors and wealthier users to buy the actual CDs, LPs, SACDs hence generate profits for products that these companies already have royalties on. Love, how tight Erma, Aretha, Carolyn were? You barely heard them ever talking negatively about one another.

Finally, I find the original version. I love almost all the versions but the original has its own place.
