I'm so happy to have come across this. In my opinion, Master Baron never gets the attention he deserves. I play his music (on guitar) all the time -so much fun to play! Great melodies and endless inventiveness. Great performance btw!

Dear Penelope, Excellet work, I can say this becaus I play these pieses since Christmas. However, could it be that in the second part of the Courante you mix some phrases the wrong way? Bernhard.

Thanks Bernhard! I have not mixed the phrases, I just modify the dynamics in the two times I play the second part, and adding some ornaments. But I don't have the facsimile, the edition used may have errors. If you have the facsimile of this Suite, I would be very interested in having a copy ...

Dear Penelope, In measure 22 of the Courante (second part) there are h(1c)-f(1c)-h(2c) by comparison to k(1c)-h(1c)-i(2c) of measures 20, 21 and 23, according to my reprint. Otherweise, I will never-never play as beautiful as you. Congratulation! Who was your teacher? Bernhard, a biochemist from Vienna.

Dear Bernhard, I now have the facsimile. There is an error in this passage, even in the original, the note B-flat on the second string actually have to be an A. For the next chord is B-flat. This melodic passage is very common in the repertoire of the late Baroque, there are similar examples in the music of Scarlatti. Anyway, I am convinced that it is to play like I did on this record.
