i like playing rhythm stuff mostly so strings wear out on me in like a few hours of playing dude LOL these strings might last 5...BUT they dont break for atleast 3 years ;] i usually use ernie balls. got slinkys now 10s usually use the top light bottom heavy 10s. been a couple years since i put them on LOL. but i do like fresh strings dont get me wrong lol

I am one of those who think strings sound better the older & grungier they are. I hate new strings I have just taken to getting the lightest gauge I try hold them to gether as long as I can have gone decades on few guitars if a guitar needs to be cleaned I play it 6 hours a day until I knock the crud off.

I was just researching this. I have a 2014 JL7 and I switched to Dunlop Heavy Cores 10-60, but I want to go back to the original gauges now. I was hoping I wouldn't have to do a custom set again but it looks like it's the only way. Oh well.
