I had a manager at Intel who had been a nanny for the TEF family. She loved the experience. She always spoke of his kindness, she had shrunk his red golf sweater, given to him by Andy Williams and apparently he was very forgiving. ❣

She must have felt awful. It probably could have been reblocked, but not everyone knows that. I lost one too, a favorite, to someone else’s laundering it, without my request, and it was long gone before I found out they can often be restored. To this day, I don’t let others do my laundry. Any time someone has done something to “surprise” me, it’s gone horribly wrong, even costing a small fortune to make right again (and still isn’t right to this day, can’t be made right if you’ve destroyed what was right). There is definitely something to the adage that if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. And another one, don’t ever assume what people like or want, don’t make property decisions about someone else’s home without consulting them and keeping them in the loop every step of the way. Don’t make irreversible changes, don’t give animals as gifts, either, not everyone wants an extra responsibility laid upon them at random, and if they didn’t want such a responsibility, they should be the one to choose it, not someone else; and in general, don’t surprise people. Just do great things for them WITH their knowledge and their consent, gained without any pressure.

Adorable story! I've been a nanny and the families that appreciated me were few and far between. It didn't affect my love for their children but I can assure you that children often are jerks if their parents are. If the parents are sweet and understanding then the kids are as well, usually

Aww you just made me think of 66' when my family bought our first home, 3 years after emigrating to the US. The place we were renting was just a little over a block away from where we bought the house. I remember walking down the street to our new house & neighbors who were out that day (summer) welcoming us. It seemed like we knew almost everyone on that street. I miss those days. It seems now no one wants to bother.. or they're too busy and a polite good morning or afternoon is all you get... never really getting to know your neighbors.

It was a truly great time. There was a very real sense of community in American cities & suburbs. My father was best friends with the dentist next door & my mom was best friends with the dentist's wife. They played bridge & pool or went to the movies & had dinner parties where people actually played charades & had conversations. I was friends with most of the children on the block & we used to go ride our bikes down to the creek every chance we had....::sigh::

Help change it back. Plenty of people are starving for that, and we can all be a part of asking our neighbors if they’re really OK, or if they’re not really OK, if there’s something we can do to support them, be there for them. Let people know that when you ask them if you’re prepared to listen to how they’re really doing. People should bring back the block party. We all need community, and if we recognize that need, it’s because we are the ones that are supposed to help bring it about. I’ve been studying the Bible so I can tell people that it doesn’t say what they thought it did. So many people think it’s just something to whack others over the head with, which it isn’t. It details people’s spiritual rights and responsibilities, and how the earth operates, it’s also an owner’s manual for life on earth. I can show people that it’s not just “historical fiction“, and most of what they believe it says is false. Contrary to what too many people erroneously believe, neither Rome or the Jews had anything to do with creating the New Testament (other than the disciples who are Jews), but Rome, the Sanhedrin and orthodox Jews had absolutely nothing to do with it at any time. The rabbis and Orthodox Jews hate Jesus, they teach terrible things about him, and you don’t wanna go looking them up because you’ll never be able to undo it, and they have refused to recognize him as their Messiah (they skip over Isaiah 53, for example, they don’t read their own Bible, and don’t ever insult a Jew by bringing up the New Testament, because they consider that to be...not theirs.). The Messianic Jews DO acknowledge and accept Jesus, there are ministries angering the rabbis by going around them and teaching their fellow Jews about the New Testament, because they also were told that it was written by Rome and had nothing to do with them...they are furious with the rabbis for lying to them for 2,000 years, (am I the only one to point out that they were the ones that screamed that they wanted the curse for killing Jesus to be upon their own heads and that if their children (which means their generations as well)?... they may want to repent as a nation, it didn’t go well for them after that); quite like Rome has been lying to their people all that time as well. I can demonstrate where Rome and Jerusalem became forever entwined in trying to keep people from knowing the true Gospel. Rome tried to torture and imprison and murder the real Christians into extinction, and when that failed, they pretended to join them, but just blended it with their pagan gods and goddesses, gave the biblical names, and redirected people back into the oppressive system of religiosity, which Jesus came to destroy. All the man-made rules and doctrine are not part of God’s plan. They defy God openly, and idk how their members can’t see that. It’s screaming at them, in the doctrine and in every square inch of Vatican City. They are not any more Christian than the average pagan, in fact, a pagan is more respectful, because he’s not blaspheming Jesus the way Rome does. They just kicked Jesus to the side and put Mary in his place as intercessor, added a bunch of other people in as intercessors, and keep their people trying to earn some thing Jesus already paid for. That’s just a dciyole of their ungodly ways. Then of course, they marched across the land, further torturing and murdering and imprisoning most sadistically anyone who translated or promoted teaching the real Gospel to the people, and anyone else they felt like killing in the name of God and Christianity. And we have to let people know that is a false flag. Everything violent and oppressive done in the name of Christianity, particularly when done by Catholics, was a false flag to make people despise their own birthright and refuse to learn how to destroy oppression. They were successful in making people think that Catholicism represents the Bible, when nothing could be further from the truth. It horrifically misrepresents it, defies and defiles it. Everything Catholicism did was a false flag attack on true Christianity and to make the world hate it and not want to read the Bible. After all, the teachings got into print where anyone could read it. Translated out of Latin into German, and then into English. Well, they could no longer lie about what it said, so they needed to make people hate it so badly, they would never want to read it. By their actions they disqualify themselves from calling themselves Christian. People think they’re looking at Christianity and see how many people they killed. But they were never true Christians. The moment they started doing those things, they were not following God. They never were, because they stripped the Gospel down, took all the power away, and reused the names. That’s about it. So, we must agree with the world, absolutely that was ungodly and therefore not true Christianity bey definition. If a person eats steak every day and also claims to be a vegan, they would not actually be a vegan, and we would not perpetuate that delusion. (I know, there are other labels people are giving themselves which don’t make them anymore true, either). We would not acknowledge their self-proclaimed vegan label. Therefore we cannot acknowledge Catholicism‘s claim of being Christian, because it’s outright paganism and has stripped out the power and authority Jesus gave to all who followed after him to get that full armor of God on and start battling the kingdom of darkness. John 14:12. There’re a lot of preachers that try to pretend that Jesus didn’t say what he said but he did and so the preacher is wrong and Jesus is the truth teller. I can show them how many people were tortured and died just to make sure that Rome and Jerusalem could not conceal this from the world. Foxe’s Book of Martyrs is a start. What would scare Rome, the most powerful empire, so much they would have to try to squelch these simple, peaceful people? Obviously because they were teaching people they have the power and authority over the works of darkness, which would include power over oppressive governments...like Rome, and the Pharisees/Sanhedrin. To this day, both factions fight against true Christianity. They’ve been in bed together ever since the Resurrection. Before that, they were just going along with it to quell a riot. Pilate was blackmailed. If he didn’t agree to the murder of Jesus, The Pharisees were going to go to Caesar and tell him he was showing preference to the “king of the Jews” which would make him a traitor, and he would be crucified himself, and then they would’ve had Jesus killed anyway, and that was the point where he washed his hands of it all. And that’s why he put a sign up of Jesus in three languages, to let people know that Jesus really was the king of the Jews, and Pilate refused to change it to please the Pharisees. He wanted the world to know, HE believes Jesus, and he knew they’d kill him one way or another. He is forgiven, be he publicly denounced it all n the moment. He was powerless to stop it. They’d have gone over his head and killed them both anyway. He made it clear who he believed...Jesus. We are not to fight it on the physical level, but on the spiritual level, because that’s where these leaders are being influenced, and that’s where we have our power, so if people keep focusing on the kingdom of man and trying to fight on that level, they’ll never get anywhere. If they spent their time putting on the full armor of God and battling it all in the spiritual realm, with prayers and proclaiming what the Scriptures tell us, using our God-given breath to speak it as we are told to do, (And we are certainly more and not to speak anything we don’t want to see happen, so sadly I have to stay away from other people who claim to be Christian but want to keep repeating negative reports off the news and other places. We are not to repeat negative reports, and God calls them evil and it’s what kept the Jews wandering in the desert for 40 years. You shall have what you say, and they got exactly what they said… Repeatedly. I’m not remotely perfect, quite flawed, but the only way to improve is to stay away from people who refuse to try at all. That’s why it’s so important to watch what goes into our eyes and ears, because eventually it will come out of our mouth and then we have created it. It’s in Genesis, and it’s all the way through the Bible. God spoke everything into existence, and then when he created man he breathed his breath into us. We are responsible for every word we say, because we are using the very breath of God to do so. And if we take his name, as we who agree to his offer can be called one of his children (it’s a lie to say we are all gods children, we are all his creation, but in the four Gospels, it’s clear… It describes who is entitled to be called a child of God, and Jesus flat out tells some corrupt Jews that they are children of their father the devil, so no, not everyone is a child of God at all, that is something they have to claim as a birthright. It’s a title that doesn’t belong do you until you take it. And we are not to take his name in vain and use it to speak anything but what he tells us to speak. Jesus said he never said or did anything that is Father didn’t tell him to say or do, and we are to be likewise, because the Bible warns that we create with what we speak.

Elizabeth - You seem like you were paying attention, and as I haven't had input on this - when the 1st chorus ends, did you notice, maybe the director, alerting TEF? Then the little guy in front probably thought he was the message-target and immediately addressed the show stealer, then took some kind of direction from the right, and turned back and wagged his fingers, trying to stop him....lol That kid got more intense with each chorus, and cracks me still, after all these years.
