The producers should re-release this movie in 2024. It was just a cinematic genius. Still can't get over Dhanush's acting, strong script, melancholic Rahman sir & a superb star cast. The end scene with Dhanush's voice in the background still gives me goosebumps.

9 years passed, still a master piece!

I'm Tamilian and was working in Delhi during 2013 when this movie trailer got released. Many of my teammates asked me how come Tamil people accepted Dhanush as a hero bcoz he is not a hero material. I told them to wait and watch the movie and then criticise him. Once the movie got released and media were praising Dhanush's acting and my teammates were spell bound!!

Was in Benaras a month ago, this song was stuck in my head very badly.

God, I love Javed's voice, and Rahman's music is magical. A lot of my friends complained that "Tum tak" words is repetitive in the song, but personally I think it's almost like as if chanting a mantra, and perfectly conveys Dhanush's obsession with Sonam in the movie.

Dhanush surrendering himself with eyes shut when Sonam smears color on his face, Dhanush splashing color at his backside with his hair flying (unreal stuff) and Dhanush diving with his back towards water and arms sprawled,again joyfully and with eyes shut... these are inspired scenes which can never be replicated. Incredible acting, incredible music but most underrated.

Because of Dhanush Sir I never get bore whenever I watch and listen to this song... I just love the virtual treat given by his performance... So raw so natural expression & acting 🙌❤️

Absolutely superb performance from the lead actor in this film (Dhanush). Still a hard film to watch, but realistically shows how people use and hurt each other in an unrequited love scenario, and how hard it is to let go, even though you know that you should. Zoya gets all the hate in this movie, and while she deserves her fair bit, Kundan isn't faultless either. It's a good study of the line between love and obsession, human frailty, convincing yourself that unreturned love means being dedicated to someone's happiness (even though deep down you know your desires still burn), and letting the other person use you. Sure, Kundan and Zoya had a bond that kept them together somehow, but at the heart of things, it was a toxic bond. Bottom line, don't dedicate your life to someone who doesn't return your feelings. Even if they show reciprocation in bits & pieces at times, in the end you'll both end up hurting each other. Move on.

This song is a cinematic experience. At 3:32 when lyrics says jana hai paar tere tu hi bhavar hai Yellow color is splashed on dhanush showing that now he is coloured in the color of Sonam as she is wearing yellow 💛. And this is done on the boundary separating two religions. This signifies that he falls for her beyond everything. He is dancing with children where eid is being celebrated.
