Guitar Pro/Tab software helps. You start out with a basic idea, throw it into tab software, it's written down so you don't forget it, then you're able to manipulate notes and add things you wouldn't otherwise have been able to improvise. I am 100% positive he uses tab software, as does virtually every prog-metalcore band.

Yeah it was sick, but I guess that they stabilized it with automatic tracking motion of his hand in After Effects or something like that. Not crazy difficult, but nevertheless very impressive

@@fharl2129 pretty sure its Sean that does the chorus riff. Not taking away anything from Jesse, he indeed can sing while doing leads, but in most songs its always Sean (or Alan before) who does the riffs in choruses

It's heavy, modern and by far not pop-ish. This song is the evolution of the Erra without losing the characteristics of the band's sound. I love when bands do it.

He’s definitely not one of the most influential guitarists of all time. You have to be super famous or at least commonly referenced by other guitarists for that to be true.

@@48956l Yes he is in metalcore. It's not even really debatable. He's not as influential as like, JB Brubaker from ABR for the metalcore scene, or the Meshuggah guitarists, but pretty close.

Bands like this need to release an instrumental version of the record when releasing a new album... I dont think ppl appreciate just how good some bands are until they can just focus on the instrumental part. I know Protest The Hero put out an instrumental version of one of their records in the past...

Yeah. This actually sounds way better than the whole mix. Thr intensity is so drowned out in the full song. I feel everything is too compressed in the full mix and the vox (heavy and clean) drown out the outstanding guitar playing here.

Dog: sigh, another magical mind bending song. can't he just play like a nickelback song? Damn man. This further proves Jesse's and erras importance, skill and magic more. Classic echoing soul chilling wonder, melodic mystical ancient discovery and emotional brutal dreamy love. Reminds me of the outsider by veil of maya too. nice ghost atlas shirt, wonder whose the singer. Love you like snow loves blood. Keep shredding with soul my soul brother.

Even generic can become unique and vice versa. It isn't what is like others or basic but their reflection of it and jesse makes riffs and compositions I've never heard of. How they capture the setting, atsmosphere and soul. No one sounds like erra and if they did, they still couldn't replicate them.

The harmonies are amazing, the vocals I can tell you have Saosin influence and it’s lovely, and the heavy vocals are a great counter play.
