Errol is interviewed in French, in Cannes, c. 1949. He is aboard the Zaca. He says he's currently playing in the movie "Kim", talks about the beard required for the part, a project to play in a film located in Cannes, and about the Azur Coast.

Errol was a wildly talented and accomplished person, I did not know French was yet another of his accomplishments.

He had a friendly, lazy, indolent way of speaking. You can hear his Ozzie charm even through the French, which is very clever of him, by the way.

I remember, many years ago, speaking to an old Tasmanian man, who knew Errol many years ago. He said that the mixed parentage gave Flynn a very unique voice. He often sounded very Colonial English, which the old man told me was how many Tasmanians sounded many moons ago, a kind of softer Aussie accent ,almost British but with Aussie Inflections. In Flynn's early movies he sounds very old school Colonial and very clipped, especially when saying things like " I say old man " ( or old chap/ old boy Ironically, i think that in the later years , after he had become an American Citizen, he started to sound a little less clipped and more Aussie, but uniquely him, if that makes sense.

Errol Flynn was cool in a scene from captain blood a sailor comes up n says we are sinking wot shall we do Captain Blood yells at him (DO we will board a ship that is not sinkng get your men forward wot a Man he was I sure wud of liked to meet him

So sad, Errol was a very talented man. Rumor was before he died he was going to take the lead in My Fair Lady!! Could you imagine ErrolFlynn saying never let a woman in your life? Maybe that would have been a good thing for him!

I never knew he could speak French. Having said that his first wife was French so he may have learned from her.

This man was multi-talented and very underrated. Having said that he was also an incorrigible womanizer and drunk but in his prime he was quite irresistible!
