በጣም ቀጥተኛ የበሰለ የከሰነ ሰው እስከ ኣሁን ከሰማሆቸ ሙሁራን ብጣም ምርጥ ሰው፡ሌሎች ለራሳቸው የሚመች ታሪክ የሚቆለሙሙ ናቸው ይህ ሰው ግልጽ የሙሁር በሳል በጣም በራስ መተማመን ያላቸው ምርጥ ሰው።

ዶር። አሻግሬን እናመሰግናለን በቅንንነት ለሃገራቸው ስላደረጉት አስተዋጾ ምንም እንኳን ቅንነት በሚጎድለውና አርቆ ማሰብ በተሳነው ሃይል ቢጨናገፍም። አሁንም እንደነዚህ አይነት ቅን የተማሩ ሰዎች በተለይ ቅን ሰው ብቻ ለሚያሥፈልጋቸው ስራዎች ያስፈልጋሉ።

ብዙ ዓመታት ስላለፉ ጠፍቷቸው እንደሆን ባላውቅም በአነጋገራቸው እርግጠኛ የማይመስሉበት ወይም በጅምላ መልሶች ያለፏቸው ቁመነገሮች ታይተውኛል ለምሳሌ በብሔርሰቦች ጥናት ሥራዎች እና በድርድሩ ዝርዝር ላይ።

First and of must I thank Sissy for this very educational and history interview/dissociation with Dr. Ashagre Yegletu. I was in high school when Dr. Ashagre was vice PM. With all the sin the Dreg members most of them were not corrupt, are not narrow nationalist and majority of them have true love to Ethiopian. I hope Dr. Abiy use some of them especially the one who does not have blood in their hand… Dr. Ashagre thank you for your honest answer I wish you left Derg before derg pushed out by TPLF/EPLF you would be more credible… saying what I said you are a very honest Ethiopian who were not corrupt and serve your country honorably…

I lobe you ESAT, but please provide water to your guests! The doctor keeps licking his lips, he needs water. Make sure your guests are comfortable. other than that, this program was PERFECT! How Ironic is it to have peace conference at ROME, ITALY, the main reason why Eritrea and Ethiopia are where they are now.

Sisay, thank you, as always, for your probing interviews that we have come to get accustomed to. Can you please ask him about his alleged role In orchestrating the forced defection of the then competent foreign minister by the name Colonel Gishu Wolde? At the time, Dr Ashagre was head of foreign affairs department of the people workers party. I shall wait for the complete interview before giving my comments.

Much respect! I really missed seeing on our national Tv such dignified, honourable and educated citizens of Ethiopians. If we compare the leaders, minsters of Previous both derge or emperor to TPLFs, they are like “ semaye enna meder “ we had Melese ,Azeb and their entire thugs rode on us like horses. They never dignified nor honourable. They barked like a dog and disrespected the entire citizens of Ethiopians. They chased or killed these type of people because of inferiority complex. Up to this date; TPLFs has not got one excellent speaker nor intellect to be able to engage public. They all bark and shout on about “ hege mangiest” which they themselves don’t have a clue about . I just wish brothers and sisters who are living abroad with such amount of experience and high standards ;move back home and build strong Ethiopia with Dr. Abiy. We miss decent faces like Dr. Asagre.

Why did he fail to mention the EPLF participants in the 1983 peace talks? He claimed that they are not around. I am not sure what he meant by የሉም? Sisay should have asked him again. Anyways thanks both for this

A message from Eritrean Ambassador to Japan: """Open Message to ESAT: Concerning Dr. Ashagre’s Interview Broadcast Programme Intermittent secret peace talks between Eritrea (EPLF) and Ethiopia (Derg Military Junta) were made in Rome Athens Cairo Aden from 1983 to 1987. Security Chief of Ethiopia Colonel Tesfai Weldeselasie and myself, at that time, Foreign Economic Affairs Chief Central Commitee Member of EPLF, headed these meetings. Members of the Ethiopian delegation were Dr. Alemu, Shiwandagn and Dr. Ashagre. Members of Eritrean delegation were Ermias D. and Alamin MS. Referendum was the political solution proposal of Eritrean side for peace. Ethiopia didn’t not came up with any during these meetings. If there were any, it was limited to academic political issues. The talks were kept secret as per request of the Ethiopian side until the last meeting which was held in Aden. This man had a nickname, ashatre yigletu. I do not know why. Calling Emperor Haile Selassie regime fascist, was absolutely insane. The real fascist came after the emperors reign, namley, the fascist derg regime who killed a whole young and old generation.

It was Goshu Woldie who gave him that moniker. He claimed Ashagre (Ashatire) Yigletu was one of the reasons he left the Mengistu regime. He described the role Ashagire, who was more influential with Mengistu, played as an obstruction to his carrying out his foreign ministerial duties.

@@joyaku8707 Mengistu was a terrible dictator. Right from the beginning he wanted to be the captain of the ship. He has absolutely no plans or knowledge to lead Ethiopia. All that he has was a big mouth. Although I don’t agree on some of his latest ideas, the only respect I have from the former Derg officials is Dawit W/Gorgis. The reason is simple, he wrote a book and exposed Derg right away. Ashagre Yegeltu is an opportunist to say the least. Where is his book??? or any kind of interview exposing Derg as soon as he dissociated from it???? Appears to me that he waited 27 years to perfect his narratives!!!! Hence, opportunist!!!
