Verry detailed and easy to follow video, thank you for that. Question though: Ducati as well as my Duc service mgr, as well as informed others, recommend taking several HOURS to drain the oil. Replace filter/o rings etc, add 3 liters of oil, let it sit for several hours, THEN check the site glass for level and add accordingly, thoughts?

@@jasonbosworth8549 In my opinion how you drain and fill the oil is of little consequence. What more important is not to under or over filling the system. I mentioned at rhetorical beginning of the video, if you live in warn climate, letting the bike sit overnight so all of the oil can drain in the pan might be the best option. But if you live in a cold climate, you have to warn the bike ie. oil first. So letting it sit for several hours may not be an option.

Great video . 🎉 thanks for sharing. Thinking about trying this on Sunday to my v4s . I was told that I can wait but I haven’t had my oil changed since my first service and I think it’s looking too black . Ducati is too expensive to take it to them so ima do it myself 😂. I’ll take it next year since they told me in 2 years you should flush it unless you or someone reliable post a video and I find it easy to do 😂

You should absolutely do it yourself! It's not hard at all. Today's synthetic oils last forever, so I'm sure you won't hurt anything by waiting if you wanted to. But you should definitely change it yourself 😃

@@ESBKLifethanks . I just came from the Ducati dealer and bought the oil (shell advance sae 15 w 50) , o rings ,crushers washer,filter … $154 usd .went to auto zone and picked up a funnel ,pan but when I got home I forgot the 8x1.25 bolts so I have to get them now . I forgot I have my torque wrench in storage so have to get that also . The dealer told me that a check engine light will go on and to just bring it in and he’ll turn it off for me ❤

@@ESBKLifequestion .. I don’t have a lift and will do it with my pit bull stand I’m assuming ima have to put the bike down for it can leak better right ?

@@ESBKLifeima have to take the whole bottom off since I have a full six carbon belly pan and it’s one piece. Took me forever to install it correctly so I know it’s going to be a bit difficult. 😂
