I LOVE Escape From New York!!! I saw it as a campy Sci Fi action movie...That why I also love Escape From LA...when the campiness went over the top...I saw it as almost a parody of the first film...kind of like how Gremlins 2 was a parody of the original Gremlins...

I remember sitting there in the cinema as in Myearly 20s, seeing Carpenter's, Debra Hill's and Big Bad Kurt's names on the credit screen and being so excited......wow what a shitfest, what were They thinking??!!! 81 's New York is special though eh? Funnily enough I just shared on here the credits with My 24 Year old daughter who is heading back home to Blighty in a month or so after a few years in Oz. Mainly on the basis that Her Younger Sis has had a Snake tattoo done and We can both take the piss- Plisken, I thought You were dead? 😁😁 but also because She did a degree in media and We need to pass on these greats to the Younger, more youthfull, better looking( but less sauve and learned 😁) generation! My husband is a movie guy. He's always called my father Clint Eastwood, and John wayne. We saw the remake of True Grit when it came out. I've known him since we were 15. Broke up for college. 23 we got back together. Started calling me Snake Plissken. From my bikes, tattoos, I played basketball, I had the same broken eye at the time, I have the same limp. I'm pretty crass, yet intelligent. Which sounds arrogant. I'm an Anarchist socialist punk. Same kinda hair, and fashion most of my life lol. Funny enough I didnt know about the movie. My mom had a huge thing for Kurt Russell in overboard too, cuz my dad young looked like him too, sadly that's the life she got. I disappeared from the public eye, a few people have been asking if I'm dead.
