Take a tour of our Escape Pod - It's an Escape Trailer Industries 5.0 TA... a tiny 5th wheel camping trailer made with a rock-solid fibreglass shell. We have been living in it full time for the past 3 months... and so far so good!

Visited the factory on a cross-country adventure in a truck camper. LOVED the 5!!! Would have purchased except for the $45,000+ price tag. It seems well worth the price and they hold their value over the years. Enjoy.

I am Canadian, born & raised in the Hamilton, ON area, who has lived stateside since 1976. I both admire & envy the lifestyle you describe in your travel posts and web site. GREAT work on your presentation of what appears to be a solid Canadian product in the Escape line. Your diligence in responding to comments concisely and completely does not go unnoticed :-). Thank you for your continued, informative posts, and Happy New Year 2021 from a fellow Canuck in Mooresville, NC. :-) !!

Thanks for the video. Maybe one day you could do a video on your trailer connection? I am looking at a Chevy Colorado or GMC Canyon (both with the diesel option) to pull a 5.0 TA with. So far liking the idea on an in-bed gooseneck trailer ball and a "Andersen Hitches Ultimate 5th Wheel Connection", the aluminum version of the Anderson only about 30 pounds. It actually looks like you might be using an Anderson hitch? I like the idea of adding a 40 gallon bed tank to the Colorado/Canyon too, that would give it a range of over 1700 miles on the highway, and probably over 1000 miles pulling a 5.0 TA. Right now tying to make sure it will all fit. Would have liked the short bed (5'2), but I am thinking I better get the long bed (6'2).
@Campology
@Campology 6 жыл бұрын
hey Jeffrey.. yes we do have the Andersen Hitch and love it... works great. Highly recommended for all the reason you stated. Plus... full function of the bed after hitch removed, and no grease or mess. Pulls like there is no trailer at all... what else could you asked for! Good luck with the Canyon... it will likely work great, however I recommend you talk to the Escape folks first.

Thanks. Also, do you guys use a wash machine like Nomadic Fanatic uses, like this one? kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ht6nmLl3tbq3oHU.html ...I have been looking at pictures and videos of the 5.0 TA trying to see where I might stow one. He keeps his in his shower, but it looks like it might be in the way if just left where you walk into the bathroom on the 5.0 TA. Maybe one day you could do a video on the hatch above the 5th wheel bed. I am assuming it allows you to get on the roof easily, to clean the solar panel or whatever? Does it have a shade and screen like this hatch: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/kNGbddqrkpvKoWw.html Any plans to use that 2" hitch receiver on the back of trailer for a storage box or (electric) bicycle rack? Thanks for the info, I am in Upstate NY, trying to make contact with an owner not too far away in Massachusetts who has a 5.0 TA to see if he might show me his, but so far no luck... Thanks, Jeff

I'm suppose to pick up a 5.0TA in a few months. I noticed you have an Andersen Ultimate in the reverse position. Was the hitch reversed because of a pin box clearance issue? I have an Andersen hitch. Your video tour of the 5.0 TA was a major influence in my purchase decision. Thanks jn
@Campology
@Campology 5 жыл бұрын
James Nichols ... thanks... glad the video was helpful. Re the hitch, to my knowledge it is set correct. Yes or no... it pulls great 😁
@scratchsescape1978
@scratchsescape1978 5 жыл бұрын
From what I've read the hitch can face either direction it just changes the pivot point. The way your hitch is mounted shifts the pivot point forward. I have an EcoDiesel Crew Cab with the 5'7" bed so as long as I have sufficient pin box clearance, with the short bed, I need the pivot point more towards the rear. I also installed Air Lift 1000HDs to compensate for the additional load. @@Campology

I've checked the website - no answers. What sort of insulation system is used in the Escape? Is it 4 season capable?
@Campology
@Campology 4 жыл бұрын
Aunt Belinda ... our trailer has the additional insulation that was provided by Escape Trailer Industries Ltd, it also has a foam under coat, so it is essentially winterized. It’s also super cool in the hot days of summer. The insulation works well on both hot and cold days.. It can’t be considered fully winterized, because the water pipes nor the tanks are heated.I don’t remember the type of insulation that was provided, but it does work well. I suggest you call Escape Trailer Industries Ltd directly, they were very responsive to us when we had any questions. Good luck.
