It’s almost like I cycle the things I forget. Usually I just add it to my gear, but expendables sometimes don’t get replenished.

Hey brother, the payment unit sign has nothing to do with paying to camp there. It deals with the timber on that particular section. I can understand the confusion. It pays to know all the rules of the area you are in.
