A perfect example of the real estate agent not listening to the customer.

The 3rd house was fabulous. A dream. With even just paint would make a bit of difference.

Lovely people but most buyers on this show are funny. I often hear things like, "We want a house in a village with acres of land" or "I want an old house with high ceilings" or " I want an open plan living style, but I dont want anything new." "I want all the things and make sure its below my budget." So many people want contradictory things, which means in the end they are disappointed. You gotta compromise when you buy a house on certain things.

House #1 suited them, but they didn't know how to decorate the upstairs.??? Paint, a featured wall, she must not be able to visualize her own things in a new property.

Bingo. When she said it lacked character and he said it looked like a hotel room I just rolled my eyes. It’s someone else’s FURNITURE in that room. They can decorate it how they like and add character.

STOP THIS! This couple specified DETACHED! Why the heck are they being shown a SEMI-DETATCHED? If I were them I'd refuse to look at it.

Because that's what's on the market now? Plus people often can only get other "non-negotiables" in a semi-detached.

Loved the first home. They could have taken another bedroom and made a larger bedroom. (with 2 rooms ). There were 3 bathrooms. Who needs character upstairs?

I think the feel of the surrounding area of the first house is very suburban, the garden is closed off with high hedges, surrounded by houses...you don't feel you are in the country although the inside of the house is lovely. As the couple are moving from London to the country, they want a country feel..the pub a walk away, a view of fields....they said they were not in a hurry and wanted to find the perfect place rather than the perfect house.

@@pomme800they said in a village 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️. It was in a village. And believe me for most in the UK that was a decent sized garden and a huge home.

@@xr6lad The garden was claustrophobic with the exceedingly high hedges so no countryside views, they could have been anywhere... I did not comment on the house except to say it was lovely and did not comment on the size of the garden.any village will do as long as it's a village? really ? you're easy to please... 🙄
@xr6lad
@xr6lad 3 ай бұрын
@@pomme800the garden was hardly small and let’s face it, it was huge compared to 90% of the gardens back in London. And when I last checked hedges can be pruned. I just did with my property 👍- cut them back in height by half. Voila - sun and less hemmed in. Not only was the garden a reasonably large, size there was also a significant portion in the front as well as it was set back. Oh and as they wanted to be in a village; here comes the surprise bit, usually means you are surrounded by other homes and don’t have much of a view of the countryside - unless your on a hill and the house at the very top of the village.

I liked the first house over the second, the third has the feel of a holiday cottage and lacked the character that this couple were looking for.

A lovely couple, modest, with a good-excellent budget for 2015. Why can't they show them more of what they want? And the last one was well over the border into Dorset, a long way from Somerset. I honestly felt the prog did them a disservice. Hope they found what they wanted in the end. Not all these wayward red herrings.

Yes. UK houses often seem like rabbit warrens to me. I think it goes back to poor or no central heating. They shut off rooms they are not in at the moment, I guess.
@xr6lad
@xr6lad 3 ай бұрын
Thats why U.S. homes are hard to hear or cool? You can’t shut areas off and only heat/cool those being used. Plus why do you want to hear the noise in the kitchen while you’re relaxing in the lounge? Or have a TV on in the lounge and hear the TV in the family room?

I knew right from the start that these people weren't committed to finding a house. I wonder if sometimes they just need to film content and have a call list of couples they can show random stuff to. I'm also pretty sure I recognize their kitchen from an interior design show a while back? Maybe they just like being on TV!

the continent you are referring to is called North America not the American continent and Canada had pumpkins too. Canada is a huge part of North America and the US was not a country or Canada during the pumpkin time. Many of us refer to the US or the United States rather than America.

I have to question, the comment, that Christopher Columbus is credited for bringing pumpkins seeds back to Europe. Christopher Columbus ever landed in North American, he headed straight down to the Caribbean.
@FigaroHey

The oldest pumpkin seeds ever found were in Mexico, so there's a chance the plant could have made its way to islands. But yeah, I kind of blinked when I heard that too.

House 1: geez what a whine. Master bedroom not big enough. I’m guessing compared to the apartment it’s huge. Plus their complaint about the character upstairs being like a hotel room - ITS NOT YOUR FURNITURE! Put your own in and add character. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️. 5 minutes earlier you said you were open to anything.
