Well I think the main way it defeats the victim is the way the victim doesn’t expect it. There are many ways to survive, such as an elytra or placing obsidian underneath, but nobody thinks to do that if they don’t know the exact contents of the trap.

Yeah he made the best trap. The best traps are about deception and subverting a person’s expectations. Saying “He’s wrong.” isn’t fair because the people he trapped knew there was a trap. They just didn’t know what trap, and what to bring to be perfectly safe. Honestly any trap could do this. Minecraft can be about being prepared underprepared, or over prepared. Having an elytra and fireworks could save you and making the trap so that nothing goes off would almost certainly save you. But so would knowing the inner workings of a prison, knowing how a bomb works, or even having time to prepare. No trap will likely ever be perfect, because there is always something help a player escape. But this trap perfectly executed deception and subverting its target’s minds.

just set a pearl stasis with a hopper clock to time it, you can easily calculate the amount of blocks you need to put in. Even better just throw a pearl straight up right outside the chunk ban and mine the block. Using slowfalling pots and equiping two totems can also prevent the void trap and tnt carts. Not to mention abusing I-frames by relogging could also be possible but a bit harder. HOWEVER, since its a trap you wouldn't know that its there and therefore can't possibly be prepared for it.

Could'nt you time the pearl and mine the diamond block just before it lands to escape the ban? Maybe time how long it takes beforehand to make it easier This way, you will escape without having to know about the ban.
