I kept doubting which camera to get next, but hearing user experiences and seeing the image quality and having used a Lumix S5 for a year I am really getting to love this cam more and more. Your review is a gem amongst many I have seen here on KZfaq. Thanks, man. I am now a subscriber.

I'm a professional content creator and I went for the S5II due to finding it at an amazing bargain. I've owned around 8 Lumix cams, my favourite being the S1 and G9. I own a Ninja V So the S5II was a no brainer. However, even though it was the perfect logical choice, the petty side of me wants the X model 😅 I'm currently trying to hold out, in hopes of an S1II announcement 🤞

No regrets on going with the S5ii for me, it does everything I need it to do at an amazing price. The SSD recording isn’t too much of a draw as I picked up 512GB SDs at a good price around Black Friday which give me 5 hours + recording time (10+ if you only record to one card at a time) in 4K24. The additional codecs are unnecessary for my use cases - primarily KZfaq. That said, the black out design does look sick though 😉

Since getting the LUMIX G9 ii to pair my lumix s5 iix, I’ve barely touched the s5 iix. I’ve started looking at other full frame cameras and even looking at Sony again for the slightly better AF. Then I realised I would trade the SSD recording, 6K open gate, multiple codecs, internal fan and superior IBIS for just a bit better AF. I am genuinely in love with my lumix cameras!

S5IIx 💪 for the extra codecs and features. Loved it since I got it. Usually tend to shoot in All-I at the moment. I just like having the ability for SSD & RAW etc for room to grow in the future. Considering its not all that much more than the S5II, it seemed daft not to choose the X.

I have the S5 ii and I got another S5 and the image quality is better on the original.

100%. I was going through some wedding footage from 2 years ago on the S5 and was struck as to how gorgeous it was. I feel the same about the GH6 but the S5II is definitely a downgrade in IQ compared to the first generation of S cameras.
