I meant to order the ESEE 5 but messed around with too many tabs open for research and bought the 4. I didn't realise it until it arrived today but I think I'll keep it and perhaps get the 5 later. It's a really solid knife and should do for now.

Say Heah, and Cheers M8, Eah. Yeah I really got into this video, Yeah, You reminded me why I got my go to range of knives. Everytime I want to get a Essee, something always distracts me, Yeah, like I just reminded myself I really want a PLSK Scout, So there you are, another distraction, I sort of got into my Swampies a little late, and I missed the MountainManDu. which is a 10" blade, what a beaut, But I got in where the Rodent 9 was the "Big Boy", and it soon became one of my Fav's Survival Knives, Boy it's a good one, at 9 1/2 and a 1/4" thick with a choil, it thinks it's a small knife. But I remind it that it's not, I really like it, The RatManDu was the one that started it for me, it is one of my Fav's at 5 1/4" .188" thick, it's a very good one, Then the Rodent 9 and then I realized that the Rodent Solution would fit right at home with my other two it's a 31/2" Convex Grind, But at that time I was into a 3knife carry. and believe me, that set served me well and I suppose it still will, But since then I changed my carry option, I now use a Axe/Hatchet and a Saw. But as you know. Knives can be addictive, I swear I Want To start a K.A. Knives Anonymous heh heh heh. Anyhow, I decided to get a lighter set, so I got the Rodent 7 and I paired that one with the Rodent 4 and having the Rodent Solution I could still go with a 3knife carry but it would be lighter. But then I also noticed the Rodent 7 was another very good 1knife carry on its own, again the Choil allows me to do that, or I could go even lighter and use the Rodent 4 with a hatchet and a folding saw. But I noticed how my Swampies grew and that I wasn't too far off having all the newer Rodent Knives. I also seen Dave C talk about a Summer Long Knife in our State, so I got the Rodent Rucki and no regrets. I found out I can chop, and baton with it and finish the job without using another smaller knife. again the Choil allowed me that, it's awesome. Then I thought of getting the Rodent 5 and the Rodent 3 but I felt it was too redundant because after all I had the RatManDu and the Rodent Solution, so I got the Rodent 6, but I didn't like a Tactical Looking Knife for the bush. But I read where a guy had the top gaurd taken off. So I had the top gaurd taken off and the blade thinned down and now the Rodent 6 look's like a beefy RatManDu on steriods it came out beautiful the stock specs it was like .264" thick, and now it does good on feathers, It is my all time Fav's in the 6" blade. So finally since I was so close to having almost a complete set of Rodents, I got the Rodent 5 and the Rodent 3, and again no regrets. even though the Rodent 5 is only a 1/4 longer it's so much different than the RatManDu that I can notice them apart, but now it's hard to pick which one to take with me into the bush, and that Rodent 3 for a small knife. the Lightning Bolt Style Handle just fits so good and I wear a large glove. But it's a good one. Yeah I got a little lucky. As soon as I got my Rodent 5 it was sold out. Watching the older video's. I took a liking to the RatWeiler which was sold out a while ago, But couple of days ago, I got a e-mail saying they are making a few of them, you can get it either in the .188 or the .250 thickness. so I went with the 1/4" version, and it will be almost a perfect match with my Rodent Solution because of the similar handle shapes, all my other Swampies have the Lightning Bolt Handles except my RatManDu and my Modde Rodent 6, So Yeah. That's what I'm talking about, You don't know how this video let me relate to my Swamp Rat's. Although one day I know I will own a Essee. Yeah. I read some great reviews with that Rowan Tempering and even here on the Tube. Yeah. recently I got so many videos either on the Essee 5 or the Essee 6, You know," On Video's to Watch". It seems everyone is doing a video on one or the other. That's why I really enjoyed your video. It's refreshing because it's about more than just one knife. Thanx alot M8, You don't know how this video helped and how it allowed me to compare to what I have. Again. Thanx and Cheers, , ,

I just ordered an Izula. I don't go camping a whole lot but want a good general knife to go with it in the event that I decide to go hiking or camping. 6 seems too long for that, 5 seems too thick but the most reliable. That leaves me likely between the 3 and 4 and I am not sure if those are long enough to use in conjunction with the Izula. I have never been in a situation where I would need to baton, but I feel like I should be capable of doing so if the occasion required it. What would you recommend?

Very nice knives, one day I will own at least one of them and I will probably buy them from you unless I find them cheaper or on sale somewhere else. Highly unlikely I know but you can always hope......lol

How are these knives compared to the RAT line of knives?
@raserei777

They are essencially the same knife. Just company problems with RAT so now they make them under ESEE.

It would be useful that you hold thr smaller knives in your palm rather than your finger tips.
