As of writing (7 January 2023), I have just sent an email to their recruitment team and have not gotten a response yet. It has barely been an hour, however, the video should showcase how you normally teach and, according to my experience, the following pieces of information: 1. How many years of experience you have that is relevant to the position/job that you are applying for (ie. if you have classroom ESL teaching experience, online ESL teaching experience, tutoring experience, teaching experience in schools, etc.). Most of the companies that deduct 10% from your monthly earnings are Japanese companies. That being said, despite their claiming that this is a form of withheld tax, I have never really understood the point behind it since I don't think they pay the BIR. I am a tutor at Rarejob Inc., I have a COR and a Sworn Declaration, but because I wasn't able to submit my documents on time (thanks, J&T), my salary is now cut by 10% per month until next January. If Rarejob (and all the other companies like it) are deducting 10% as "withholding tax," then why am I still required to pay taxes to the BIR when other online ESL companies don't have this kind of rule (ie. South Korea, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, etc.)? In other words, if you choose to work for a Japanese company (or any company that claim to deduct your monthly earnings by 10% for "withholding tax purposes," please know that they are not doing this to pay BIR for you, you are still legally required to file and pay your own taxes. This is just a company rule. So even if your monthly earning is a grand total of 60 PHP, 10% will still be deducted.
