Hi!! The difference between province and territory is a creation: province is a creation of the Constitution Act and territory is created by federal law.

Thank you for a comprehensive explanation! In Russian Federation we have - Administrative Departments (8 in total) Center, North, South, Caucasus, Volga, Ural, Siberia, and Far East - they are similar to yours provinces and territories. Each AD consists of several - Subjects of the Federation (85 in the country, if I am not wrong), i.e. [name of the land] + oblast' \ kray \ autonomous district \ republic etc. And of course each SOF has its center (city, municipal level) So we have: - the whole country level - the AD level - the SOF level - the municipal level The President of the country is elected directly (his name in the ballot) State senate (Duma) as well as SOF senates are elected differently with respect of the SOF where the voter lives. The mayors are not elected. The president is in charge to give us a mayor (no choice at all).

I am from South Korea. We have two big elections. One is for Presidency of South Korea and the other is for members of Parliament. By the way, the voting dates for two elections are different because the term of presidency is 5 years and the term of MPs is 4 years. It causes the wate of time and money, so many politicians has been trying to find a way to vote for two elections on the same date through the revision of Constitutoin Law. And, of course, all electons are secret ballot.

Hi Mark. Here in Brazil, we live under republic as form of government and presidencialism as the system of governmente. So we directly elected our president in elections that take place each 4 years. Far in the past ,from 1822 to 1889, we were a constitutional monarchy called Impire of Brazil. Best regards for you Mark.

India has the almost system like Canada. We vote for MPs but we still don't know whois going to be a PM. Sometimes we know and sometimes we don't. We have three types of government. 1.) Parliament for the entire country and the maid leaders is called MP (Prime Minister, 2.) Legislative assembly for a state and the main leader is called CM(Chief Minister), 3. (A.) Nagar Nigam for big cities ( Jaipur is a big city), (B.) Municipal government ( Cities like Sikar), (C.) Surpanch in villages

Hi Mark, in Mexico we vote directly for our president. In fact, I was working for the government system a few years ago and I think the system is very secure but it is not good at the highest levels where some conservative parties tend to give preferences to big companies through fake news to influence the Mexican votes.

Thank you so much for such an interesting lesson! There are a lot of differences between Canada and Poland when it comes to an organisation of administration. It seems to be done in a very logical way! But I let myself to ask one question. If you get your driver's license in provincial registry, does it mean it is valid only in this province? It might be stupid question, but who knows how do they set it up :).
@MadEnglishTV
@MadEnglishTV 6 жыл бұрын
You're welcome! 😃That's a good question. Driver's licenses are a bit like healthcare in Canada. Both are provincial matters, but they are "portable" meaning that they are valid everywhere in Canada. Let's say I move from Alberta to B.C. My Alberta healthcare and driver's license are valid until I become a resident of B.C. Then I will get a new healthcare card and driver's license.

I was disappointed in this video; there is no way that I'd use it with my ESL students. How are they supposed to be interested in learning about the Canadian government when words like "boring" and "absurd" are used to characterize our system? Shouldn't you convey enthusiasm for the material you're teaching? I also found it baffling that you say "I don't know" so often - shouldn't you have a basic understanding of things before you teach them? The turban/bicycle helmet example made me shake my head in disbelief.

This information is educational and interesting for someone who is new to Canada. Mark does a wonderful job, in my opinion 😊

This is similar to that of India. Take some time and try understanding the Indian Govt. for 2024 Election. I am sure your mind will be blown off understanding it 😂
