Thank you so much for uploading these videos! I just started teaching little kids and my first class was not so good... Then I found your videos! In my second class I used many "tricks" among those you teach, like "hello song", warm ups, transitions, tpr and they came out perfect! My small kids were paying attention, listening to me and cooperated! Thanks😭🙏🙏

@MooncakeEnglish
@MooncakeEnglish 4 жыл бұрын
@@2110Bia Yes! I think that's where everyone struggles, younger students have such short attention spans and it's so easy for them to get bored. I actually have a video on classroom management: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h8xolsWCrNHSgH0.html It might be helpful. Generally speaking though, transitions are really important, non-stop movements, chants, and songs for the kids. It's something that really does get easier with time though. Most importantly though, do you like teaching kids?

@@MooncakeEnglish I wish I also had the chance to teach abroad but for now I teach only in Turkey. I started teaching when I was 21 and now I'm a 9 year experienced teacher . I taught secondary school kids for 6 years in a private school then I moved on tutoring, this year I got to teach 2-5 year olds in a day nursery which is a very new experience for me 🤗 it's been 4 months now and I really try my best to make them learn English in a natural way and have fun. Of course children at this age are a lot more challenging in terms of management and I always look through videos on KZfaq to improve my teaching skills . I know how it is important to learn a foreign language at a very young age cuz I was 5 when I started to learn English in a private kindergarten in Saudi Arabia. So I give big importance to teach and give my everything to my kids. Then I found you and fell in love with the way you demonstrate and describe the things that go on in the class . I really admire you , and this is the first time I'm writing a comment on a video so this means a lot to me. 🤗♥️ Frankly speaking, You became my inspiration and guide in my teaching journey the moment I watched your video. I hope we will keep in touch miss Jemma . I'm so so happy to meet you. Looking forward to your inspiring videos 👋😊

Thanks so much Simone! While I have you, I'm currently reaching out to some followers as I'm looking to interview ESL teachers teaching kindergarten (purely for my own research) to help me improve and build upon Mooncake English. It would mean the world to me if we could pop on a quick call, and I could ask you a few questions. The calls are audio-only and there are slots available throughout August. Book in for a call here calendly.com/mooncake/60min I hope to connect with you soon 😊

Hi Kev, thanks for watching and welcome to the Mooncake community! I look forward to officially saying welcome once you make it over to China in the near future 😁 Yes, it's not uncommon for some schools to expect teachers to create their own curriculum (though not necessarily right), it depends on the school and what the set up is. Most larger reputable schools do have curriculums. Try to work with the school by giving suggestions and doing what you can, but don't be afraid to say no if their expectations are too high. As long as you communicate with them and show a positive attitude you shouldn't have too many problems. Best of luck, don't be afraid to reach out if you have questions!
