One of the most beautiful performances of Esmeralda Variation. I have rarely seen it so perfect. All of pas-de-deux was very good.

It's getting hard to find this full pdd since Bolshoi staged the full production (often this search gets you the one where Esmeralda is really sad she's dancing at the engagement party of the man she loves, different music, and a small corps). Thank you so much! Have not seen either dancer before and have fallen in love with both!

Très beau pas de deux, merci! Et d'autant plus précieux que "La Esmeralda" est trop peu donnée. Premier danseur depuis novembre 2015, Hugo Marchand a un physique parfait, la souplesse, l'élégance, des ports de bras admirables: un danseur étoile en devenir...

D'ailleurs, ça vient de quel ballet ça? De toutes les versions de la Esmeralda que j'ai regardé, il n'y a jamais eu cette variation.

Does POB actually use "premier danseur" for both men and women? Because "danseur" as used in English is usually the man and "dansuese" or just "ballerina" for the girl. I know it's the rank below etoile.

@@minissa2009 Sorry but I don't quite understand your criticism: I'm only talking about the dancer, Hugo Marchand, and not about any "danseuse". The ranks at the Opera are as follows: Quadrille, Choryphée, Sujet, Premier danseur, Danseur Etoile. In fact "Danseur étoile" is more a title than a rank. It is granted by the management of the Opera and announced to the dancer at the end of a performance in front of the public. It is an honorary reward, but it doesn't confer a special status on the person concerned: there are no roles superior to those already given to the first dancers. The title dates from 1937 for women (Alberte Aveline) and 1940 for men (Serge Peretti). Thanks for the message.

Hannah O'Neill deserves to be Etoile at l'Opéra de Paris ! Hugo Marchand also, but he is already an Etoile ... his solo is explosive !

Hannah O'Neil is an excellent dancer from the Paris Opera would like to see her dance with Xander Parish get partner here is also an excellent dancer both tecnically good artistic and dance with feeling

Ottimo mantenimento delle pose figurali alcune delle quali inedite nell'ensemble duale. Ottima ed imperativa occupazione totale dello spazio proscenico a balzi aperti e spettacolari da parte del ballerino. Impressione di facilità esecutiva d'acchito da parte di entrambi. Fantastic video¡¡¡ Thank you very much for this video. This couple is sensational. I already had seen them dancing separately, and they are admirable, Hannah O'Neill and Hugo Marchand, in my opinion among the best dancers in the world, great great dancers¡¡¡ I admire them both a lot, but I had never seen them dance together ¡¡¡ until now, and I am delighted with this video, they both are magnificent. simply, ideal. wow, what a lovely couple and fantastic dancers. the variations are stunning ¡¡¡ which are both great. I've really had a great time watching this video offering first class ballet. Thank you again for this video¡¡¡ :-)

Is the Esmeralda ballet actually used? I know there's a hunchback ballet, but the music of the finale here really reminded me of le corsaire

J'espère qu'il le sera dans un futur proche, on voit très peu Ballet classique à la Guadeloupe et Martinique pour tant il y a des endroit qu'ils peuvent être reçu.
