I just got the Rival brand lower-end sparring gloves but I've only used them for hitting the heavybag and double-end ball (I didn't stick with boxing long enough to start sparring) but they felt great overall to me. Only thing I didn't like was the fact that they used velcro AND laces, and whenever my trainer helped me tie them, it always felt like he left them too loose and they moved around, which might not have been a problem iff they were less complex. Before I decided that i had to focus...

Great video, i personally use 14oz Rival rb20's... I spar and hit the bags in them and they are great, excellent quality and feel really nice when I punch and protect my hand pretty well. I need a new pair because I made the mistake of not wearing innards gloves to prevent my fingernails shredding the inner lining of my gloves over time, especially on my left every time I flick a jab

It's totally up to you if they feel good use them, every body is different i like to use light gloves for bag/pads 10oz or 8oz but my mate who's a middleweight won't use use any lower than 14oz, it all depends how heavy you are and if your hands are injury prone.

I've used Hayabusa for over 1 year, heavy bag use some sparring they are comfortable, good protection and durable. There are some obscure gloves out there that are really good like Corti from Argentina, Boon, another German make (not Adidas), Pretorian from Brazil, Ring to Cage then of course you have the legendary Cleto, Grant, Winning.

I would say Cleto Reyes from how many pros and people use them for sparring fights training and much more.
@1Champion0111 жыл бұрын
They're okay for sparring VERY protective around the knuckle area though almost like a bulge of of padding is there, personally i don't like too much protection, but if protection what your looking for they are ideal, also they last quite a while i'd say at least 2 years if only using for sparring, make sure you get th leather ones not the p.u though.

While I was in the ISAMI store in Tokyo when i was training over in japan I put a winning glove on my right hand and a cleto reyes my left both were 16oz and winning was like a marshmellow and cleto's were like bricks. IMO winnings are the best for training, they'll protect your hands 110% and your stable mates when your sparring. If you're a puncher you should use reyes for an actual fight because they are far less padded meaning more chance for a knockout.
@PoopFart577 жыл бұрын
I stick with the standard Ringside IMFs for training since they're affordable and get the job done without being too shoddy like Everlast's cheaper stuff.

Ring To cage C-17 is a pretty close to Winning & for the $ is worth a shot for anyone interested in Winning but don't have the $. Cletos are definitely my fave!
@Combatives81312 жыл бұрын
Yes, regular Everlast gloves are crap. However, their Protex2 and Protex2 EverGel are pretty good and reasonably priced. I use the 14oz for sparring and bag work. I noticed a huge difference in the shock my wrist when power hitting. For competition 8oz Cleto Reyes lace ups all the way!
@joshuaesparza29847 жыл бұрын
So for hard hitters Reyes are decent? I've been using fighting sports gloves and they're great but they're a bit too fluffy for me. I'm thinking of trying Reyes but some people are telling me I won't like them cause they're not padded enough for a heavy hitter? Seems odd to me seeming Reyes are known as punchers gloves

I agree with coach Krause except on his views on Everlast, yes the introductory gloves from everlast suck, absolutely. But the ones made in Mexico (MX and Elite pro fight gloves) are GREAT gloves. I reccomend everyone try it. The fist I can make in those (and even the Powerlock Pro Fight gloves) is 2nd to none!! I don't like winning and cleto Reyes thumb position. It's not comfortable and doesn't make as good a fist.

People continuously confuse everlasting for there cheap toy brands. Everlast protex3 evergel are amazing gloves, I actually prefer them over winning, I use them for sparring. Absolutely amazing, great protection for your hand and your partner, the mx are traditional Mexican gloves and can hurt your hand if you do not know how to punch or have weak hands, I use mx for mitt work and heavybag. Nice pop, just too hard for sparring, I like the handplacement over cleto Reyes. Sorry for the essay but I had to lay down the line. This is why you see many pros using Everlast.
@Bulsebub11 жыл бұрын
Yeah i already got them, but i got 12oz and they got the same or more padding then my old crappy 14oz. But for bagwork they dont seem to be the best idea. I got some twins 10oz, do you think its better with less padding for bags?

Just got a pair of 16 Oz Twins all leather glove. I know a guy with a set that are 8 years old and he uses them five days a week in 14 Oz. They are not my Reyes gloves that I had for 15 years that got lost but the twins are $75.00. Used them twice so far so I have no opinion yet but they are way better then the Ringside and Everlast in that price range I was looking at Morales gloves from Mexico but I don't know anything about them but like the Twins they are hand made from all leather.

here are the gloves that I used: my first pair: energetics- very cheap, about 25$, very very bad gloves, they have a tone of padding, I don't think you can even knock out an opponent with it, even if he lets you do it, and they make it hard to keep your fists closed, which is bad... my second pair is everlast, fighter edition, with natural skin, they are alright, paid about 100$ for them, they dry very well, if you keep them out of the bag and let them dry, it feels like they are brand new when you put them on, and I have done some stupid things with them, like train without wrappings, or hit walls with them, and they are alright... they last about 1 year if you train twice a day, every day, so yeah, they are worth the money, and they live up to they're name
