I’ve never been that much of a fan of ESP/LTD line of basses but I feel that this bass could change my mind on that. I have to agree that the neck looks striking with the Purple Heart/ Wenge combination. Plus you can’t go wrong with Nordstrand pickups.

This bass seems capable of approximating almost every Geddy Lee tone, with a little Claypool on the side.

I played this one and it was perfect! Neck is very smooth, weight is so light and the sound was fullfilling/fitting any kind of genre imo. But I prefer with the nobe stickerㅋㅋㅋ

Nathan that body is mahogany and the top is swamp ash...

Nope. Where did you get that info from? It’s too light to be a mahogany body and the top is clearly Bocote. Here are the specs listed by ESP: www.espguitars.com/products/21003-b-1004?category_id=1963318-b-series

Better than a G&L and a Sandberg because they have no mid knob. Mids make all the difference. Most versatile basses have bass, mid and treble knobs. Active/passive is cool, too.

With no mid knob you can dial in mid via pickup selection then craft the sound around the desired mid tone. So, boost or cut bass or treble.

Not true. Roll to the bridge pickup and you get some more mids, roll to the neck and you get more lows. Find the balance.

@@DanielPerez-vt5ez according to you, apparenty. Sometimes less is more. If no mid knob then you have to subtract, turn down the bass and treble as needed, while finding the sweet spot between bridge and neck pickups. So, I'll leave this conversation with that since you think the earth is flat.
