I don’t know if you are still out there, but I have come across this project and found it useful for a project I was working on. I added in classic BT to communicate to the thermostats. I am going to build a solution but curious on how you got the values for the capacitors?

Dear Nassir Malik Thanks a lot for sharing, a Very nice and informative Channel. I am sorry I have not tested it but it will be more useful if you can add more functions. Please add the library links and software versions also it may help for beginners. 1) Add a wifi manager 2) Retrieve the last state in case of power failure. 3) A good choice is IOT Thermostate. 4) Bluetooth is a good choice for using it wirelessly in absence of WiFi. 5) I think that DHT22 is more useful for Temperature and Humidity. Really I appreciate your work from the depth of my heart. You will get the benefit in this world and hereafter. Thanks and my best regards Shahid

You dont need that voltage. You just need to jump it. The board on air handler produces the 24v for control

Thanks for the complete tutorial! Question about switching the call-for-heat and call-for-cool: Do you need a protective resistor when switching the White cable to the Red supply, or is it okay to short them?

Absolutely love your videos. Hoping you can help and or maybe a new video idea. With covid and the surge of indoor exercise on treadmills or indoor cycling fans have became a must. Problem is all good floor blower fans are not smart fans. There is one or two models that run $200+. I’ve read where people have used a relay and pi or other smart boards to voice control each speed wire in a fan. Like Alexa turn fan on high, Alexa turn fan on low. Relay kicks each speed in. However I have not seen or read of anyone doing this and keeping the original manual fan controls operational as well. Is the possible? If so you should make a video. Would certainly be a hit right now with everyone working out from home. No one wants to get off the bike or treadmill to turn a fan on or up higher.

A question for Netmedias: I am getting compiling errors errors, 'class Nextion ' has no member named 'sendCommand' or 'setComponentText.' Did you build you own Nextion library to handle these specialty commands?. If so would you mind sharing them...Thank you

I have a small problem. I need to use components that are compatible with Arduino. A position sensor (so I use a GPS module. This GPS module must be Adafruit Ultimate GPS Data Acquisition Module (GPS Included)). A position storage (with an SD card that must work with an SPI link). A bluetooth interface. A IHM to visualize the route (using an Android tablet that is compatible with a bluetooth module). you can advise me to use what as a component . because it's 3 components must be compatible with Arduino and an Android tablet IHM thanks to a Bluetooth module.

In the video it shows "LRD LG5528". In the description it says "LG5528 LDR". But the correct part is "GL5528 LDR", which is a Light Dependent Resistor or a Photoresistor. You suppose to be more accurate with the components' description if you make technical videos. Otherwise it's just misleading.

I have enjoyed so much the informative ideas behind this project. Especially designing the screen and watching the screen work in real time. Kudos to Netmedias for sharing his videos and design ideas. . As far a programing, I believe I have added the correct libraries to Arduino, ESP8266 by communities, and NTPClient by Fabrice Weinberg. I unfortunately, cannot get it to compile as it stops on line 12. Nextion myNextion(nextion, 9600); //create a Nextion object named myNextion using the nextion serial port @ 9600bps. error: 'Nextion' does not name a type; This is such a practical and fun application. I have everything soldered together and would like to finish the project. Is there any help either by the author or by someone else who has this Smart Thermostat working?
