If you really payed attention to the eagles last year they pass defense wasnt great last year either .... the difference is last year the eagles use to be able to send 4 without blitzing and they were wrecking the game Mahomes figured it out and exposed that secondary in the superbowl once he got enough time...... Eagles fan here. No excuses for losing last night. Fortunately we finish with the easiest schedule in the league against the Giants, Cardinals, and Giants. Having said that, our team looks gassed and running on fumes. The post Super Bowl schedule has been brutal and it’s officially caught up with the team. I’m getting very similar vibes to the Vikings from last year who finished 13-4 (which the Eagles are on track to finish) but whose record masked the fact they weren’t nearly as good as their wins and losses suggested.

Woah, wait! I thought team and offensive struggles automatically get blamed on the QB no matter what. Or is that a standard you guys only apply to Dak? With all due respect to Jalen Hurts, commitment issues isn't the problem with Philly. Jalen Hurts is the biggest reason for the Eagles struggles this season. They need him to "quarterback" at an elite level; something that, despite the false media narrative, Hurts has never been capable of doing.

I don’t think it’s offenses performing worse, I think it’s that Defenses are getting better overall. The defensive schemes are improving with the era of pick a guy and let it fly. The teams with good offensive success are teams with great running games.

You're definitely right about the first point. That said, the Eagles "looked" suspect the whole year, though even I'm surprised how bad they crashed. Though definitely not against the 49ers. It's worth thinking about what "figuring it out" means against the Giants and Cardinals. How would we know? How would crushing them tell us much about the future? Of course losing or getting lucky again would tell us a lot.

As an Eagles fan through and through. I have no faith in my team at this point. I don’t care if they crush the last 3 terrible teams I might not even watch them (probably will)let’s just hope some things clean up especially on the offensive end because we can’t stop nobody on 3rd down, stopping teams on the run pretty much pushes teams to go to our weakness.
