Baker Mayfield isn't even a real Oklahoma QB. He's not from Oklahoma and started out at Texas Tech. Also, he got embarrassed in every big game he ever played in. Jason White and Sam Bradford were real Oklahoma QBs because they were born and raised in Oklahoma and didn't transfer in.

Baker Mayfield and Jared Goff are the 2 guys that epitomize the never say die attitude to succeed in the NFL despite having a bumpy road along the way. They never gave up on themselves so others didn't give up on them and look at them now.

Wasn't Soomer born. If he had the opportunity to choose between Texas and Oklahoma as a kid.. 100% chance he's choosing Texas.. He grew up in Austin and every kid growing up in Austin wants to be a longhorn. Texas didn't want him, that's why he played for Tech. What do you expect him to say? He played for Oklahoma obviously he has to say he hated Texas.

Lifelong Bucs fan and I think Baker is the epitome of Bucs football. Overlooked and often forgotten about. We have a receiver who's been in the league almost a decade and has never had less than 1k yards/season, but never makes any top 10 lists of wrs. Lavonte David has better stats, in many areas, than Wagner, but never gets the recognition. You can keep going. People wrote Baker off and people wrote this team off. Nothing gives me more joy than to see them balling out and having fun.

I’m a Tampa Bay fan but I questioned what the general manager and front office was doing when they bought this guy in but so far he have proved me wrong and I am very impressed with him and I can tell that he is a very likable guy with a belief in his self And those around him to win football games.

He started his career in a dumpster fire of an organisation with two of the worst coaches in NFL history and the third didn't want him. This man is resilient. Brady's the best to do it but I think Bakers a better fit for the Bucs!

idk why but the nil thing got me thinking. what if an older nfl QB went to college for 3 years, and hes like 35 years old and hes not getting paid good anymore in the nfl. could he go back to school for another degree and also play football at that school for a HUGE NIL deal (20mil)? since he only played 3 years there couldnt he play 2 more, since the max is 5?

I don't believe so because once you accept funds for your performance I am pretty sure that classifies you as a pro athlete. While NIL SOUNDS like paying players for playing, it's not. The NCAA (I believe but could be wrong) does not allow current or former professional athletes to compete in collegiate Athletics. At least that is what used to prevent some of the trick shot and street ball basketball players from making it to the NBA. Many were accepting funds for street ball and trick shot competitions while still at high school age. Many of those competitions that are regulated technically made them professionals and restricted from playing NCAA ball
