That should have been Tendulkar ! Dont forget that he carried India singlehandedly until dravid and ganguly arrived in 1996-97. Dravid never had to carry the batting the way tendulkar did! Dravid was at best a match saver, not a match winner as he himself says. That honour should go to tendulkar and sehwag.And tendulkars presence made the job of all incl dravid easier, as opposition planned mainly for him

@@IITianProudIndian Sachin is selfish cricketer. Pls take a look at his 24 years of cricketing carrier n then nominated for Rajya Sabha where his attendance is very low among all the members. DRAVID has achieved a lot in his 16 years carrier but Sachin took 24 years to do so. This is the real example for sachin's selfish nature. I totally agree with wht u hav said but above all selfless matters a lot 🔥

I just want to bring to light how this great man and the selfless servant of the game was treated at the fag end of his career. He gave up the captaincy in 2007 and just after that India played Australia in the ODI series and lost badly. Dravid's performance was bad in the series. They dropped him right after the series. Imagine playing one bad series and a former captain is dropped. He never played ODIs until 2009 when he was brought back just before the Champions Trophy as it was in South Africa and the selection committee felt that they needed someone who could handle the bouncy tracks. He score 70 odd in the game we lost against Pakistan in the knock-out stage. He was not picked in the squad for the next series. Imagine scoring 70 odd and dropped right after. He wasn't given another ODI chance until 2011 after his fabulous showing in the England test series and retired from ODIs. Never once did he talk about the way the BCCI treated him and keeps serving the game long after retirement by helping the young generation. The Cricketing world may have seen several great players but no bigger gentleman than Rahul Dravid. RD Forever..!

Especially when we see players today who performed badly got dropped and now all they do is blame the selectors or the captain. Never once did we see Rahul say anything wrong about Dhoni or the selectors. What a great man.

I don't know why my eyes are filled with tears. I have watched him after a long time in an interview like this. I am 80' born and i watched all his Cricketing moments and became a devotee . Rahul Dravid, according to me, had a fulfilled Career in terms of batting record's 10,000 + runs in 164 tests at an avg. Of 50 + 10,000+ runs in 344 odis at an avg. Of almost 40 (which is very good compared to the quality of bowling in the late 90s and early 2000s ) And a score of 35 in his only t20i (again a good and decent enough score for someone who has played just his 1st t20i)

Nice to see that Sanjay mentioned about Dravid's wicket keeping at least towards the end of conversation. During the time when Dravid was keeping wickets in one dayers ,I was happy (and so do Indian cricket team management :D ) that we could get in an extra batsman to our armoury. Seldom you can see players like him who was willing to do sacrifices and take pain for the benefit of our team :).

Started watching cricket at the age of 8(2002) only due to Dravid sir, i still remember how bowlers struggled with Dravid, even i learnt many life lessons from him. Did many things for Dravid. Atlast met Dravid when i was 25 😍😍. Such a simple person, the way he treated was mindblowing, Youngsters should watch this to continue cricketing life for long years. All dislikes might be due to background noise and bowlers and their fans who suffered due to him.
