You can see in the initial minutes of the game , Arsenal tried to press but soon realised the game plan . They had no other option but to play safe and not run to the ground try pressing or trying being flashy like last year and concede goals. With all those talk about Klopp style of play and bravery , he has just won a single game at Etihad that too 9 years back. Of course I am only talking about PL and not CL.

From the perspective of Arsenal, it'd be the right step in Mikel Arteta's project if they somehow win the premier league this season. Many of us don't trust Arsenal in this title race especially with what happened last season and they showed their inexperience and inability to cope with pressure, but to go away from home at City and stop them from scoring they're the first PL team to do that in 2 seasons BTW is impressive. Imagine telling people in 2019, that 5 years later, Arsenal would have a chance to win the premier league, everyone would be laughing at you and they're in contention to win the title and it'd be a significant moment for them if they go all the way in the title race. It tells you how good of a job Arteta has done at Arsenal as they went from midtable to being in the premier league title race in back to back seasons, how many managers can have that sort of an impact, say whatever you want about trophies, his impact on this team should be appreciated, since when are managers judged off of how many trophies they win. I don't think Mikel Arteta is an elite manager, he's heading into that trajectory steadily. First of all, it'd be the first league title since 2004 which was 20 years ago and it'd end the "bottlers narrative" against them especially with what happened this time last season when they spent 32 weeks in 1st place yet still didn't win the league and people will start taking Arsenal a little more seriously. Before the Man City draw, they won 8 games in a row showing that they're in strong form during the crucial period of the season and hopefully they don't choke again because it could happen.

From a neutral perspective, it would be nice to see Liverpool win it after all the adversities they have gone through with VAR and injuries. They are also by far the most entertaining side.

I have never seen a team be criticised for drawing away to their title rivals who had a 57 goal scoring streak and have arguably the best home record in the league. As excellent as klopp has been as well he's never won at city in the league. As poor as city have been relative to their previous seasons still are an elite team. They literally just won 5 trophies in a year for goodness sake. This is also the 1st time I have ever seen city play at home and not even test the opposition keeper. That's literally a compliment to arsenal because teams which have tried different styles vs city have absolutely been blitzed with countless shots and save after save. That was not the case yesterday. Stopping arguably the best team in the world is really hard and arsenal did really well

Arsenal's CB's looked great because Haaland had a bad game and they had a first line of defense an arms length away shutting down space and working their socks off. ANY centre back pairing will look fantastic under those circumstances. It's no wonder it was like catnip to Craig because that's how teams played back in his day. That's not football, that's not the modern game of football. Centre backs are measured these days on their ability to defend one-on-one when no one is there to help because your entire team is attacking. We saw none of that in this game.

I think Manchester City are an elite team and I have no issue with their success in recent years, but at this point watching them win the premier league every year is getting old. I just feel like no matter what happens, it's inevitable that they'll win the league, in the past other teams are much better than City, yet they still win the premier league. In the last 6 years, they've won 5 league titles and if they go all the way in this title race, that's 6 out of the last 7 league titles and that would mean they would have 4 consecutive PL titles and while the prem is still competitive, it's not a great look for the league. It's an entertaining league, but I rather see a different winner instead of City every year. They have done a brilliant job in navigating through injuries something that was an issue for them in previous seasons and their ability to have that confidence to win a game when they're trailing that's critical in winning titles. You don't want to always see them play from behind, but Liverpool have won 23 points from losing positions this season and they're literally "mentality monsters. Realistically, Liverpool has been the only team regularly competing with Manchester City for the title. I know people will say that despite having 90+ points in 3 out of the last 6 seasons, they've won 1 league title which was in 2020 and just a reminder that without Liverpool, Manchester City would've won 6 out of 6 PL titles by now and they can stop them from winning 4 straight league titles this season. Let that sink in. Right now, Liverpool has a likely chance to win the premier league and many people want that to happen, and it'd be great if it does.
