On paper he was absolutely not qualified from a few years in the MLS and getting fired from the Swedish second division team. People don’t expect us to make the quarter finals but try to be competitive with in a round of 16 game and we have had zero “great” wins under him that less talented teams have pulled off like beating Spain in 2009. Glad he is gone, he wasn’t 100% of the problem but the manager is one thing that can be changed easily.

Berhalter did a great job rebuilding USMNT. He took over program at its lowest ever point, and we looked poised to make that jump to the next level after Qatar. Unfortunately, he wasn't the right guy to take us to that next level. Hopefully, USSF gets this next hire right, and we get someone who can get us back on track for 2026.
