One of a very small few Vaporwave albums to incorporate very minimal sampling in favor of entirely self-composed tracks (only tracks 1, 6, 8 and 9 have any sampling whatsoever), Esprit 想空's virtua.zip is a fresh, groovy, summery and organic experience while still maintaining that intentionally digital and vintage 80's-90's feel. While each track is relatively short, they all provide incredibly chill atmospheres that shift and change as you listen to the album all the way through. This album is free to download on Esprit's bandcamp page, which will follow the track-listing below.

@@enostheforthewin6191 Well it was even more so back in the day. On Pad Chennington's channel there's an interview with George (Esprit) and he talks about how this was one of the first vaporwave releases that didn't rely too heavily on the samples. (edit: typo)

This album recently passed the age of 10 years old and it no longer brings the nostalgia of my early childhood but rather the period when it was released. F*ck you esprit. Its too good. It still holds up.

This is like the ideal of videogame music from that era. It fits the part, and feels like a track you forgot from that game you played as a kid. You can't remember the name of the game but the tune plays in your head all the time. It's too good to be true. How does no one else remember this game's soundtrack?

These tracks are really good. Some are rather short. Though they're all pretty solid. I really liked the second half of the album a lot. Though, the first two tracks are super clean. In all, I think this is a fabulous effort and worthy of a listen.

Weed and vaporwave go together a bit too well haha. I remember when I first smoked to Macintosh Plus...this is officially my favorite genre of music to get stoned too :) but it's enjoyable just as good sober too :D

I think George, despite very clear 90’s influences and reference points being its foundation, really touched upon a pretty timeless sound. I feel elements of his whole discography under all his aliases have that “freshness” quality. But this one is definitely one I’d rank among his most ageless, it’s a fine, fine wine.

HKE (formerly known as Hong Kong Express), t e l e p a t h テレパシー能力者, Vincent Remember, Blank Banshee, Vaperror, 猫シ Corp., Eco Virtual, Darksleep, Cocainejesus, Chungking Mansions, luxury elite, 회사AUTO, death's dynamic shroud.wmv, Golden Living Room, Nmesh, Topaz Gang, 18 Carat Affair, Oneohtrix Point Never, George Clanton (the guy behind the Esprit project), Shima33, Vektroid (and all her many aliases). Not quite sure what you mean by either "legitimate" or "established", I just kind of assumed you meant popular producers who aren't just fucking around and making memes.

Even though this music is sorta supposed to evoke 80s/90s nostalgia (I personally) am feeling nostalgia for 2014, when this came out. I was in 6th grade, simpler happier more carefree times when i was truely enjoying life. I would trade 2022 in for 2014 anyday
