@@marc416 Has nothing to do with insecurity. First, it likely originated out of necessity due to the pandemic. But it's also a good idea to leverage technology to screen out people who aren't good matches without investing too much time and money into an in-person date. And of course, if geographical proximity is a temporary impediment, then it allows for a significantly increased selection pool. And many women-who have a much higher risk of being in physical danger-may prefer it because it allows them to filter out guys who give them red flags (some guys won't take "no" for an answer and resort to stalking women who've rejected them). If your first thought is to instantly jump to "insecurity of talking to women" as the only possible explanation, you may be projecting your own worldview.
